Raspberry Pi 400 -- specifications and demo of the new, faster, keyboard-encased Raspberry Pi 4.

The Raspberry Pi 400 featured in this video was supplied before launch by the Raspberry Pi Foundation. The video has therefore been flagged as a "paid promotion", as I received something "of value from a third party" that allowed me to make the video ahead of the product launch.

You can learn more about the Pi 400 on their website at www.raspberrypi.org/blog/raspberry-pi-400-the-70-d…

  • Epic quote of all time = "if your like me, don't worry there are medications available..." -Christopher Barnatt 2020
  • @inspiredtiny
RPi Foundation just lit up the Pi world with this.. Perfect timing for Christmas.
  • @jorgemtds
"Don't worry if you are like me. There are medications available" - 😂😂😂 Nice one Cristopher.
  • @linkcell
7:40 "let's see that wifi is working and... yes we can see that we get to the world's favorite website". Very smooth 👌
  • @MrShiffles
You nailed it...this is the classic all-in-1 Sinclair, C64, Trs-80, Atari, TI99 etc form factor in a modern package...take it out the box, plug it in to your tv and you got a complete computer...and cheap as chips :0)
  • 9:27- Ah, Christopher, you wonderful fiend, there might be medications for what you got, but there ain’t no cure, and I’m willing to bet that a lot of us wouldn’t have it any other way! I’m typing this in the US Midwest at about 3:30 in the A. M., at the beginning of what is looking to be the most eventful week of a lousy year—and this video has greatly improved the mood of at least this one household! Some wise guy may have proclaimed that it’s the tale and not he who tells it, but I say the messenger matters! Oh, and the Raspberry Pi 400! A computer integrated into the keyboard, and I don’t have to worry about finding the case? Looks like a no-brainer to me! My only quibble is that it’s the 4 gig version, and not the 8 gig, but I imagine that’ll come later....

Mr. Barnatt, there's another impressive thing about this home computer, it's made in the UK. I wish here in the US we had a company manufacturing home computers again. Such a pity Commodore didn't survive it's crummy management team, they were literally just up the road from where I live (about an hour and half away). Sure, we have Apple, but they think their poop doesn't stink and charge ten times the price for it...UGH. --- and all their stuff is made in China.
  • @auroragb
Thanks for providing the temperature results! I love that it's a passive solution that makes no noise
  • @succuvamp_anna
"If you're like me, don't worry they have medicine for it" that made it worth the watch alone lol
  • @bigsky1970
This is definitely going on my wish list for the year. I'm old school also. First computer in our family was a VIC-20 then the C-128 (with built in C-64 emulator), and we had a ZX in our classroom plugged in to a small black and white television. So, this PC will take me back in time when you just turned the power on, and there it is!
  • @JoopMedia
I loved my “rubber keyed spekky” 😉 thanks for your great reviews over the years! Happy 2021 👍
  • @tainkirrahe
This will be my first ever Raspberry Pi and my dad - a serial Raspberry Pi fanatic - recommended your video so I could get some familiarity with it before it arrives. Thank you for doing it, I feel a wee bit more confident now :)
  • Makes we want to tear my hair out when I think of schools in my country ordering tens of thousands of iPads for the pupils while they should buy THIS!!!
  • @Jhale716
Back to the future, all in one keyboard computer connected to the Tv... very Retro 80’s :D Who said we don’t run in circles?
  • @almostmatt1tas
Your enthusiasm really comes through in the last portion of this video. :) What an excellent product this is.
  • Someone please explain to me why technical channels, such as this one, consistently get downvotes on their videos? The content is accurate, well-made, and interesting (to those of us that find the subject matter interesting), yet there's always downvotes. What are they finding exception to?
  • @TJWhiteStar
For anyone wanting to know the cooling solution is that the chip is thermally connected to the Metal Shield via a Thermal pad. This shield spans the length of the cases and should provide a decent amount of cooling.
  • @tonyburn
Your summary at the end is spot on. Love this new hardware. I backed the kickstarter Spectrum Next so I'm looking forward to getting that! I'll also be getting this 400. Really enjoyed this video and your explanation. Thank you. :)

FINALLY! Ever since the pi launched i've been hoping they would ship a version of the pi inside a keyboard. Partially for the convenience but also because it reminds me of computers like the commodore and others. I'm so happy to see this version launch. It could also do a lot for pi adoption as this is something you could easily give to someone as a simple linux computer.
