As someone who does 3D character modelling as a hobby, there are moments where I feel convinced that a drastic change in a character's face will improve it. Then I come back later and go "Oh that's awful! Why did I do that?" This feels like the IRL version of that, with the primary difference being you can't just reload an earlier draft of your body.

I think—for me—the worst part is that her character attempts to reject the fakeness of the celebrity culture and really wants to just be herself, so there's this dissonance and irony in her getting plastic surgery because it's against what her character represents.
