It's crazy how much I-70 sprawls to the west of STL. There's still so much suburbia west of where you stopped.
  • Great Job especially driving in the St Louis area via Interstate 70 west. That bridge gives us an excellent view of the St Louis Downtown area
  • Nice ride along interstate 70 west We got that cold weather in Texas now

One of the oldest routes under the Interstate Highway bill, built between 1956-62; revised and expanded numerous times since, and rerouted from the Poplar Street Bridge to the Stan Span, as we call it, in 2015. It used to be four lanes with cloverleafs at Lucas & Hunt, Florissant Road, Lindbergh and I-270. This part is not under the rebuild plan just announced for 2024-2030; that's between Wentzville (about 20 miles west of where you got off) and Blue Springs, near Kansas City. Fun fact: St. Charles Rock Road (the original US 40 from the 1920's), no longer goes to St. Charles, after the old bridge was blown up about 20 years ago.

There is no such place as Fairmont County, Illinois. In fact, there is no Fairmont County anywhere in the United States. What map did you use?
