What did the gladiators actually do inside the Roman Colosseum? What was the life of a Gladiator like? Would you survive the battle inside the Roman Colosseum? Let's look at what happened inside a Roman Colosseum during the rule of the Roman Empire!

The great amphitheater that we know as the Roman Colosseum was commissioned by Emperor Vespasian around 70-72 AD. Like any big stadium, it was for the public’s enjoyment, where folks could watch various games. Except the games were quite different at times from the kind of games we watch these days.
This entertainment enthralled the crowds and these games were sometimes said to be the “bread and circuses” that pacified the masses and directed their energy away from life’s difficulties.
Today we’ll look at just how far the Romans went in entertaining the people, in this episode of the Infographics Show, The worst things that happened in the Roman Colosseum.

The worst thing to happen in the Colosseum was when The Infographics Show made a video on it and it wasn't sponsored by Wix.

It's no wonder that Jesus Christ's message of "love one another" was seen as dangerous and radical if this is what the common people back then enjoyed as entertainment.

My biggest question is who gets a Roman coliseum on their pizza
  • There was one story where a slave defeated a higher class warrior and the crowd was so dissatisfied they ran into the arena and ripped the man apart either their bare hands.... absolutely brutal

Well, Seneca, the poet who talked about facing death on without fear and accepting it, drank poison and cut his veins while in a hot tub, thus denying Emperor Nero of his execution. He was very brave too😂
  • 5:38 "Best Roman hunters dressed in lots of armor" Show animation with half-naked men wearing diapers "Is this some kind of female video game character upgrade reference?"

This shows true human nature and how crazy we can get. The masses enjoyed watching people getting mauled by animals.
