My mum played Hendrix to me when she was pregnant with me. She loved his music. I started playing music at 6 years old on Cello, moving to piano at 8 and moved to guitar at 17 as I liked thrash metal. However, at 18-19, I rediscovered Hendrix, Stevie Ray and BB. Now at 46. Thanks Mum.

What was so scary special about Jimi is he really, honestly didn't see himself as being all that talented. He looked up to a lot of the blues greats without ever realizing that tens of millions of musicians since he passed have "looked up to him. He was really a generational talent. Thank you whoever posted this.

I got to see Jimi in concert in April 1969 at the Spectrum In Philly on a center revolving stage. I was 19. I’m now 72 and I’ll never forget it. I have that concert on a bootleg CD.
