  • This is a problem that Chase could easily address. Knowing how this scam works, they could simply update the software to close out automatically once money is dispensed, making it necessary for you to have to tap again if you want to do anything else. This shows a lack of concerns for their customers.

And we're expected to believe there is zero security footage or any photos of said thieves literally standing at the ATM?

It's not the tap feature, it's the functionality of the ATM. Always make sure everything is exited out before leaving the ATM.

The bank needs to change the software to log off after a few secs of inactivity. Shame on them for letting this go on! Leave a sign for patrons to know.

If I'm using an ATM and someone in line grabs the card out of my hand in the name of helping me out it will end badly for them. Never let any personal interaction with strangers while doing personal banking, and that includes letting them stand close enough to see things.

ATMs in my country have flashing LEDs that indicate it is ready for a customer. I usually wait for that before leaving the machine, making sure that the sessions is over and that it is ready for the next customer.
  • @shrugrug7172
The sheer amount of people who don't wait around to make sure they are logged out before leaving the ATM is amazing.
  • @gbr56473
I never leave the ATM until the machine asks me "Would you like to do something else" at which point I would choose No and wait until it says "Thank you for your business" and then go back to the home screen. Then I walk away.
  • @noobcraft6225
These people should: A: not trust random people near an ATM (kinda obvious, even before this scam came out), and B: Make sure you close out your session. It’s kinda obvious you should wait till it goes to the home screen
  • Hey ppl, I'm a retired computer/IT person, Yet I still find sentinel Recover so informative and straight forward. Thanks for your advise and helping the people...........Great work and love watching.

I just said this in another video: "She's not the first person Chase refused to reimburse stolen money to. It's usually not until the local news makes a story about, they will get paid." Even though they are required to pay. It's in their agreement with cardholders/banks/etc.

I had someone walk up next to me to use the ATM next to me, then pretended her bank card didn’t work. I was attempting to use Apple Wallet to withdraw money, and she grumbled about her card not working, and asked me for help. I pointed to the tap sign and ignored her completely afterwards. In hindsight, I suspect she went through all that because she wanted to get my PIN. But I wasn’t about to do anything while someone blatantly stood right next to me and staring at me. Be very careful about your surroundings and be weary of strangers. You can never be too careful.
  • Wells Fargo makes me re-log in if I do more than one thing on the ATM. It's annoying but I'm not getting ripped off. Chase can change this easily.
  • @larkivisto
It's sad that the only way to get large corporations to do the right thing now a days is to go public on the news or social media. Bad publicity is the only thing that gets their attention.
  • The efficiency of this sentinel Recover is next level. To juggle walk throughs of various angles on the topic delivered to-camera, differnet content per topic from various folks underneath the umbrella of the track list of the larger big band concert itself is engaging and refined. To make a dense taccess like this so digestible is really something. Awesome work sentinel Recover !!
