8:55 If you like to know what happening in this fight, the main gimmick is that the entity limit is being used to activate each phase. The battle starts with a bit of auto-scroll so that it can load in everything required to make the level work. It stops cause of the custom auto-scroll changing path towards the floor which has scroll stop (a line of solid blocks leading from one end of the screen to another). The entity limit is at 100 when it reaches Larry. When Larry is defeated, it goes down to 99. A (barely) off screen spike is now able to spit a spike ball which activates a on/off block also turning on the blue dotted line block above spike now stopping it from activating the on/off block again. A few things happen after that... 1.A 2 path track is changed so that the cannons can come in to shoot fireballs. 2. 9 off screen enemies standing on global ground (like a snake block) are killed lowering the limit to 90. 3. A timer is set to hit the on/off blocks to bring down the next Larry and also allowing spike to spit spike balls again. The cannons shoot the 10 winged fireballs, and are trapped in a one way wall cage keep them from unloading. Because the fireballs stay loaded in, the entity limit is back to 100. At this point everything basically starts over when the next Larry is killed. Basically, whenever the entity limit is at 99, a on/off block is triggered and is set back to 100. Theoretically, you can probably make like a 10 phase boss all (seemingly) in one screen. Maybe make a one screen Koopaling rush.
