The summer heat has arrived! Wonderful heat-loving herbs like rosemary make these torrid temperatures more bearable. Consider growing rosemary in interesting shapes and topiary forms. Learn how much water they really need and see how I display them in my kitchen garden, the potager.

Terrific! Thank you. Nice way to ease into Sunday...you've inspired me to try training some rosemary into columns.

I've never seen rosemary topiaries before, never knew they were even a thing! I'm from italy, rosemary here tends to grow pretty much everywhere and nobody really prunes it or does anything at all to it, the only pruning comes from harvesting it for consumption really. We use it a lot for focaccia, baked potatoes and vegetables, soups (in winter) and roasted/bbq meats, I have a plant that my great grandmother planted, it is at least 50 years old, the trunk is so beautiful and ornamental!

I love Rosemary. In my Colorado zone 5 garden, I grow Rosemary Arp. It is good for about 5-6 years as a perennial. It dies when we have an early spring then gets sub freezing again. I find that if you don't prune it until after your frost date, it does a heck of a lot better.

Thank you for another enjoyable video. When I'm not gardening, I enjoy watching your videos. This past week we had 4 days of heavy rain and then the Saharan dust. Today the dust was moderate so I got to get some garden jobs done. I don't know if every gardener feels this way but, it seems the more I do, the more I find I need to do! But, I love it and, I have the dream that at some point, what needs to be done will be done. Then, I'll sit down with a glass of iced tea and look at it. Hope you have a lovely day.
  • What a treat on this Sunday morning. Thanks for sharing some of your many blessings. 🌿

Why am I watching this in Arizona, with no garden, and it’s currently 115 degrees outside. Gorgeous garden!!! 💖💖💖

I’ll certainly plant some rosemary. I think if I keep planting a little of all the plants you talk about, as my weather permits, in 5 year my deck will be a beautiful little oasis. At least I’m hoping.💕

This is a very inspiring video. I have a wire heart shape and I think I will try and train rosemary around it. Thank you so much for the inspiration.

I enjoy my rosemary with roasted veggies. I know this is an older vlog, however, I am still getting tomatoes and thinking more about fall clean up and getting beets out of the ground. As always really enjoy your videos. Thank you.

You know how much I enjoy your walk abouts. Today hearing you describe your rosemary topiary, I really enjoyed the scent. I have rosemary in my herb garden and look forward to using them more in arrangements. I'm anxious to hear more of your olive trees.
