Tire pressure sensor replacement

  • This is an excellent video. It makes it abundantly clear I should just pay my tire guy to do it.

Honestly, it's great to see people doing their own repairs. When it comes to auto repairs, I do a lot myself, but there are many things I don't. Personally, changing the TPS is not something I want to even attempt to do, especially since I have never done it before, nor do I have the proper tools. But also, mainly because I do not want to risk damaging the rim. As I feel, if I were to do this, I would make it worse. To each their own... but as many others have commented, yah you can save $ on changing the TPS, but then youre also having to buy new rims once you bend/damage the rims. (Reviewing the comment section is also a must for me when watching DIYs). So changing the TPS would be for someone (mechanic) who has the proper equipment / setup. Just my opinion.

This is more of a hassle with lower profile tires. Better to get a tire shop to unmount the tire. 👍🏻

If i have a tps go bad.... I just go to the place where i buy my tires. Dennis will do it for the cost of the sensor. He also fixes my flats for free.

Thanks for sharing, this is good information. A tire shop will charge a mount and balance fee, and we can see here that a mount and balance is not needed. Stay gold.

Great video. Did the same thing. I'll leave the tire on the vehicle next time. Looks easier.

If changing the tps is too much money, then dont change it! Buy a $3 tire pressure gauge and check it manually.

Awesome ‘DO It Yourself’ video sir! The TPMS light drives me insane on my 2011 car. One sensor needs to be replaced so I’m have to order the part online & convince a tire shop to install it cheaply. Ha!

Used this tool many times with no problem at all

For the price and hassle I'll continue to to break the tire down and change it the old fashion way. I only break down one side so no remount or balance is really needed. But thank you for showing this new tool. Im always interested in new products.

Wish you would put the link to that tool you use to push the tire back from the rim. 🤔
  • Independent tire shop..not one of the chain's. I usually will change them when installing new tires, they install for free..i have replaced 2 of them when they went bad and they charge me $12 per tire.
