Never heard anyone sound so good in their 70’s, he hit them high notes as well as he did when he was in his 20’s

This guy defies reality. I've lost about a third of what I had over the years singing in the clubs. George is as good or better than 50 years ago. A monster.
  • His voice is so powerful it hasn't even aged since the track was layed down in 1974!!!

His voice suit and style is like fine wine never ages
  • Delighted to say the talented George is still with us - he turned 79 in October....."If it wasn't for you, there would be no me!" What a beautifully humble phrase!

One of the best live performances! I usually prefer the original recording but this is excellent. Glad to see he still has it!

This brought me to tears when he gave the song to us. Such a talented artist and beautiful soul.
  • Holy shit. I'm 72 and George gotta be my age. He's from Tampa Florida . Saw him in clubs summer of 1974. Who woulda thunk he'd be doing this 45 years later. This actually gave me goose bumps..wow.

You know if you're on the Jules Holland Show, you're a legend! What a great voice even 50 years on from the original hit. This song is a classic, classics never fade! His voice is still so good! Amazing 👏 🙏 ❤❤❤

I was delighted to be in the audience that night the show was recorded
  • I listened to George Mc Rae singing this song 44 years ago on the radio and he continues with the same timbre of voice. Amazing!

44 years on (at the time) and both George and the song sound as good as ever. Good on him!

Oh my god, how good is that, a classic and what a voice he has. Loved what Jules Holland and the band did with this.
