A little tongue and cheek, but what do you think of this problem?

This idea is brilliant and hilarious at the same time. The only problem I see is that ideally you should use something that you could keep in your studio so you don’t have to buy more of something that spoils eventually.

I have a Helikon Tex Bergen - it's a lovely bag, tough as nails and very very comfortable. It's advertised as an 18L.. but it's huge. 🤣

I learned that mistake with my High Sierra XBT TSA Backpack. It looks HUGE but each compartment doesn’t really have that much space.

I just look at length, height and width of bags before buying. This is much more useful to me than liters (or potatoes). I do love the creativity though. If you stay with the potatoe concept, I suggest singing the "one potatoe, two potator, three potatoe more" song while tossing them into bags (assuming that you can sing, Klint).

First; thanks for a great channel. On this topic my vote go to measure volume in liters. Those potatoes you have are very big compared to what is normal where I live. Also our potatoes vary a lot in size here. Measuring only the main compartment is fine though. There is another channel (OneBagTravels) where he measures liters with “packing peanuts”. I like that a lot.

An example of literage discrepancy is packs such as the Evergoods CPL24. It's rated at 24L albeit the Alpha One Niner Whitley's (rated 20L) main compartment is larger and packs more. This is because Evergoods accounts for the other compartments for its literage. Another example is of The Brown Buffalo 21L. When I had it, it definitely fit around a 26L over a 21L. Same goes for their 19L pack fitting around a 21L instead of the stated 19L. This is definitely because of the design of having one main compartment and only two other zippers.

Rushfaster uses 6 packs of beer but one issue with that is the shape of the bag in relation to the object you put in it

Thank you for talking about this topic, it is really confusing and not useful for back companies to state the leaders when it’s clearly always off even based on their own measurements. The problem I see with potatoes, although I love you and I think it’s a great idea and funny and it’s so you, but the problem I see is that there are different sizes of potatoes. It might be more useful to use golf balls since they’re pretty standard .

Agree! But maybe not potatos. Unrelated, kinda related. Please help. Looking for a sling bag that has the organization of a CT5 but can also fit a Hobonichi Techo in a Lochby folio. Tried the Aer Tech Sling 2 but it doesn't have as much organization and the space is more partial to flat stuff than potatos or pouches. Thanks if you can help! Essentially, I'm looking for a sidekick to my CT Sun Bear.

If not in liters how else do you measure? Potato’s come in different sizes so we would have to standardize potato size first.

Why not breakdown the space of each area? Like 20L Main, 2.5L front pocket,1L top pocket etc.

The consistency is bad. GR136 for example - they are huge for their stated size.
