The Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES to its friends) may be over thirty years old, yet a good number of its games are still remembered fondly to this day, and held up as examples of gaming’s very best. With over 1,700 games released over thirteen years, the SNES’ offerings are rather lean compared to, say, the PS1’s almost 8,000 in just over a decade. But this was when games were made from the heart and developers were given free rein to experiment – and as a result, the SNES produced more industry-changing classics than you could shake a Master Sword at. Here are the 10 Best Games for the SNES.

Uh oh, I think somebody didn't go back over the entry for Final Fantasy III because that is not the Final Fantasy III that should be talked about in this video haha
  • Your FFIII entry seems to be muddled up... You seem to be describing FFIII for the Famicom, but showing footage for FFVI (released as FFIII in the West).
  • @MrZhdarkstar
#5 turned into an actual Wild Card Entry because of how much of a blunder that part of the video was.
  • @lf4807
At first I thought the Final Fantasy III entry was trolling but it seems to be actual bad research
  • @valetboy21
I think you are talking about the wrong Final Fantasy 3. The original FF3 was released on the Famicom, not the super, in Japan. Final Fantasy 6, which was called 3 in the US was released on the SNES.
  • @LateralusDSOTM
Surprised Donkey Kong Country 2 didn't crack the top ten. Which, according to science, also has the best video game soundtrack of all time
  • @deadmetalbr
You should really pull this video and fix the FF6 gaffe. All we learned from this video is that Ben’s never played FF6 or he would have noticed the problem instantly.
  • Is it me or was the Final Fantasy III entry confusing at the beginning? It was released worldwide as Final Fantasy III when it was the sixth entry in Japan. The real FFIII would not come to Western shores until much later. So technically, it was localization at the time of its release that can cause confusion. Either way, good list.

I love how all the top comments were talking about your big FF3 gaffe. Nice one there, guys
  • @gammaphonic
Your description of Final Fantasy III is absolutely perfect. Don’t change it.
  • Chrono trigger and legend of Zelda a link to the past are my personal favorites
  • @exodous02
As I guessed most of the comments are how the FF3 footage is messed up. He's describing FF3 from Japan but showing FF3 in the west, which was actually 6 in Japan. Is this video A.I.? It feels like A.I.
  • @Darksy_DePhil
Imagine knowing so little about the greatest Final Fantasy. Yikes.
  • @vicmikey
The DKC series would like to have a word with the critics who are responsible for this list.
  • @donjohnson7768
FF 3 was 100% released in Canada and the USA, it's FF 6 in Japan, maybe you English peeps missed out!
  • @BRUNOMARTINS89
Uau... How could a gaming channel mess up the Final Fantasy VI entry so bad?
  • I'm going to go ahead and say no one at TripleJump has played, or even knows what the SNES Final Fantasy III is.
