Budget Committee Hearing: Saving Social Security

a simple RAISE for ONLY the folks on SS who are not getting ENOUGH TO EAT all MONTH IS THAT really too much to ask ? GIVE us at least 15 or 1600 a month to live and eat what the hell is wrong with this country?

I’d tax the rich in a heartbeat esp single millionaires like little Lindsey and multimillionaires like Romney.

The first time in my life I have seen elderly people homeless, walking down the street or trying to get across the street with everything they own hanging from their walker! I try to help them out but have noticed they are too proud and don't want a handout unless I insist. But I still cannot get them off the street! As a nurse I can tell these people are sick and have a difficult time moving. OMG will someone please do something , this is sick and evil seniors are living this way!

Without Social Security and Medicare all seniors will have nothing. We work our whole life paying into Social Security, then money is taken out of our Social Sevurity to pay for Medicare. Medicare doesn't pay for everything and then we have to buy additional insurance to include prescriptions, vision, hearing, and dental. In addition, I pay city, county and federal income taxes. Not to mention house payments, car payments, insurances for both of those, food, gas, etc. When will it stop! Thank you, Mr. Sanders, for your support.

I am a senior.The wage years ago was less then $5.00 an hour. I remember getting a little over a dollar an hour. This is why many older seniors can not live onSocial Security alone.

I want Social Security benefits to be tax free again. Social Security benefits were tax free until Reagan, he needed a way to help pay for his tax cuts to the one percent so could cut taxes on the one percent by fifty percent. So Bernie please make Social Security benefits tax free again!

Definitely don’t privatize it, everything that got privatized having to with public has been ruined. Only priority being to increase shareholder profit on a quarterly basis as a business model past 30+ years has ruined most things.

Good morning, As a independent disabled worker I find it hard to pay my bills with the income limits that are now in place. We need to raise the income limits for those under retirement
