"It was common for Prince to look for inspiration by sitting at the piano and just playing whatever came to mind. His engineer would record it to a cassette for him in case there was something worth building into a song or an element that could be added to an existing track." —Peggy McCreary

  • Let's take a step back and ponder. How could any human being be this good on the piano and simultaneously, be as good or better on the guitar? And, if that's not enough, be damn near as good on the bass, on the drums, and on other instruments? No one could humanly practice that much! Which proves beyond any shadow of doubt, Prince was a gifted gift God gave to the world.

There are billions of galaxies out there, but we are living in the one that had Prince!
  • @CraigMansfield
You'll never see the likes of him again. Part of me died with him.
  • This truly made me cry. Prince wore his heart on his sleeve on stage. He lived, breathed and slept his craft. This recording will evoke powerful emotions not just in Princes's most ardent fans but musicians alike like myself. As a jazz/soul singer Prince has been a constant inspiration. He cared about his audience and the man was laid bare I think through his music. This is/was Prince Rogers Nelson. Romantic, visionary, deep, thoughtful, showman, and totally connected to life and love and of his craft and spirituality. He was love.

The greatest musician of all time. The great Prince Rogers Nelson. Truly incomparable.

Prince, man oh man. Susan Rogers said Prince was very proficient at each instrument he played and that was why he could record so much music. This is a perfect example of what she was talking about. This is perfect playing. He's calm, collected, efficient. The lines are clear and always interesting. Soulful. Patient. Truly impressive.

Let's pray for all the people who can never see him live...

Amazing to think this was recorded almost 40 years ago. It sounds so fresh.
  • I remember when this came out, nobody believed it was Prince, and quickly discarded it, only to come back to it years later after it was verified. I had no doubt this was Prince, he has an extremely unique piano style, and this set is such a great showcase of his piano prowess. He truly does become the instrument. Thanks for posting this, I hope so many more ears come upon this purple piano extravaganza.

Man, I can't even imagine being able to just sit down and play like that. Truly one of a kind from someplace else.

When you've grown up alone and with personal struggles from a young age, you long for a friend or friends. Sometimes you find them in books, sometimes you find them in your imaginations sometimes you find them in expressing your being through instruments. Prince did this so wholeheartedly and without ego or wanting anything back. Listen to your own voice then come back and listen to this....can you see now? 😊
  • @gaylahuckaby1
Denise/Vanity said Prince would play classical music for her because they both loved it... she said how amazing it was to just listen to him play the piano for hour's..... 🎹💜
  • @dieyoung8259
Prince lived on earth...but he was definitely from a realm of a different existence...
