As no one has seemed to notice yet, I'm just going to keep pretending I didn't miss Skarloey demolishing trucks in Season 9's Rheneas & the Dinosaur.. 🙃 This would move him up and place him between Toby and Emily. But, yeah, totally didn't miss it or anything, no way....

Something I don’t see people talking about is how almost all of James’ crashes involve a long, tension-filled runaway followed by a sudden bang, accompanied with a banger score.

It’s quite interesting that in “Peace and Quiet”, Harvey asks Murdoch if he’s ever crashed. Ironically, Murdoch hasn’t had a single crash onscreen.

There's actually something incredibly heartwarming about Skarloey taking a crash to protect Rheneas. None of the other engines go out of their way to protect another like this, and it's a really important element of his character. It's wild how despite how often post-classic seasons got Skarloey totally wrong, they did give him a truly standout moment like this and it's just another reason why he's my favorite engine.

I love how whenever a flatbed or truck has a minor impact, it just gets immediately launched into the air. Never realised how often that happens.

1:02:46 I got one. In Calling All Engines, Thomas pushes the beams for the new suspension bridge instead of pulling, which you can see clearly in the learning segment and the arrival scene, and he never crashes. That is the only time I can think of because I watched that movie too much as a kid

“Anytime an engine is pushing a train, there’s going to be a crash” The one exception I can remember is Thomas pushing the breakdown train to rescue James in season 1. Yes they were heading TO a crash but the actual train being pushed got there unscathed.
