The Angry Black Girl and Her Monster Movie Review

I like that it gives a woman's perspective on dealing with a "Frankenstein" since a woman originally wrote Frankenstein

I'm literally at the movies 2-3 times a week. I patronize everything from chain theaters (Regal, AMC) to local ones that show independent films. I . have . NEVER . seen . ONE . Watched the movie just now and I’ll admit the acting was great but the direction of the movie was all over the place. The beginning of the movie was dramatic and kept you interested but after that the movie just escalated to fast and nothing made sense, for example when she revived her brother her goal was to cure death and help her brother find his killer but then she randomly becomes afraid of him when she literally just held his hand and was screaming of joy. There were just a lot of missing pieces that never tied together, the title mentions an angry black girl and her monster implying she will be using the monster to in-act revenge but instead she just becomes scared more than she is angry and the whole angry black girl plot is thrown out the window.

The Angry Black Girl and Her Monster is a better title to me because speaks more to the issues she's dealing with outside of the monster she created. It's clever, but it would be easier to tell my friends to see Frankenstein in the Hood.

Angry = Mad + Black Girl = Scientist was a clever twist on the term associated with "angry black woman". She's angry for a reason. Plus she was called a mad scientist quite early in the film.
