This was how much money I spent during my backpacking trip to Europe! Traveling like this can be an inexpensive way to see the world. Traveling cheap in Europe is easier than you think! You can have a lot of great travel experiences without it costing too much money.

A great way to travel on a budget is to live like a local in whatever destination you are at. This could mean finding great value accommodations, shopping at grocery stores, and not doing too many of the tourist attractions. I found that these strategies helped save money while traveling.

Saving money on flights is also a big concern. Make sure to book your airfare early, or else it can be quite expensive.

Sometimes transportation while traveling can be expensive. Getting train passes may not be the cheapest option for your trip; it may be cheaper to book each train individually.

Many travel activities are completely free! These include walking around the towns, hiking (most of the time), and talking with the locals.
