I love saving and investing and living in this tiny 80 square foot apartment with dirt cheap rent has helped me save and invest so much money. I just think people only view success as someone living in a big house with a nice car and I actually think that's misleading because what it takes to succeed is often living well below your means. Hopefully this gets people excited about tiny living. 80 square feet is the legal limit for how small an apartment can be in New York City. That's my understanding anyway. Hope you guys enjoy! • Property developers and landlords have managed to convince people that spaces like this are apartments and not just rooms with a sink.

Honestly, I could probably deal with the small living quarters but not having a private toilet and shower is an absolute deal breaker.

Without a kitchen and bathroom it's not an apartment, just a room for rent.

First, you don't have to justify your lifestyle to no one. Secondly, I love what you have done with your apartment. It is simple to the point and it seems to meet all of your needs.BRAVO!

I’m very impressed that you managed to make a tour of 80 square feet last 11 minutes

Why do you think it’s embarrassing to live there? Sounds like a sensible choice. I would find it embarrassing to pay for things I actually couldn’t afford.

The fact that you built all of that by yourself is great and you did with stuff that people just threw away...well done. 🐶🙂👍
  • I’m too claustrophobic. My dorm room was larger than this. I do like how he’s making it work and seems very content. Guess it’s no different than living in a van.

The idea of $385/month rent in the most expensive city in the America is unheard of. I admire how you manage to have all the essential stuff in a small place and still room for your dogs. I am happy for you. Good job.

"Nothing is ever out of reach." so fitting for that apartment 😂

Bro did a great job organizing and downsizing in order to make his life as efficient as possible for that tiny place. And he's got room for two adorable dogs! Even the plant he rescued doesn't take up space, he chose wisely. Couldn't share a bathroom and shower with strangers though, but at least he isn't getting raped with his rent like other folks living in barely bigger spaces in NYC are. Good for him.

I feel I could make this work if I had my own bathroom.

As an interior designer I find that people generally live in just a small portion of their gigantic homes. Nothing wrong with cozy & functional!
  • Your place is great for one person and I love that your fur pets share it with you. I think you did an awesome job organizing your place and how you saved $$$$ by dumpster diving for items !!!

Its just crazy to me how many people love living in the city so much they are willing to live like this.
  • @poodlebone
I am absolutely amazed that you're only paying $385.. My only real complaint is the lack of a private bathroom.

He has a home! Beats being homeless by a long shot! Even a small apartment is better than no abode or living in a vehicle! Kudos! 👍
