Istanbul, Türkiye - Welcome to Istanbul, one of the most fascinating, historical, and delicious cities in the world. Today I’ll be taking you on an ultimate Turkish street food tour in Istanbul - you can expect some iconic street foods and some unseen surprises!
Here are the places we ate in this tour:
📍Galata Simitçisi (maps.app.goo.gl/21CJNCCZZ4FMSB9YA) - You can’t come to Istanbul without trying simit, a common ring shaped bread that you’ll find at bakeries and street food carts throughout the city.
📍Çiğ Köfteci Seyfettin Usta (maps.app.goo.gl/u6i4Fj4LEpNRhZSJA) - One of my absolute favorite Turkish foods is Çiğ Köfte, that includes raw meat, bulgur, and lots of spices.
📍Dürümcü Raif Usta (maps.app.goo.gl/xkrWpGzZeSoByJQCA) - Turkey is the king of kebabs and a durum is a grilled kebab served wrapped in bread so it’s often fast and on the go.
📍Tarihi Eminönü Derya Balıkçısı 1945 (maps.app.goo.gl/qq2h2opz347XSv3v8) - Probably the most iconic of all Turkish street foods in Istanbul is the balik ekmek, a grilled fish sandwich still served on a boat on the Golden Horn.
📍Beşaltı Kirvem Tantuni (maps.app.goo.gl/Sbf1E4iCwXEg1wB97) - It’s hard to find anything tastier than tantuni!
📍Tekrartekrarr Bay Köfte (maps.app.goo.gl/GkhSxeCbeQyJWP6z6) - This was something totally unique and that I’d never seen before, an ultimate cheese overdose, and so good!
📍Sokak pilavcısı (maps.app.goo.gl/sKCn3GwgLJFa72q2A) - Another popular Istanbul street food is rice and chickpeas with shredded chicken, and you’ll find it all over the city.
📍Midyeci Erkan (maps.app.goo.gl/bfvrVjSiiwJdkAne8) - If you love mussels, midye dolma are a dream come true. They go down so easily and are so addictive!

Istanbul is my favourite destination. The food is amazing and the key is to avoid "tourist" restaurants around attractions - just go deeper into the streets and see where you see all their local people sitting and eating, and just order there - you just cant fail! And TUrkish people are amazing hosts. I love their friendly culture, kindness and etiquette

I worked with a crazy Turk for about 16 years...he's since moved back to Turkey to take care of his Mom with his second wife...I think I need to go visit him. Loved that man. And he owes me a bottle of Raki.

I had the pleasure to stay in Istanbul for 3 month, and until this day i still dream of tantuni and that mackerel in a lavash wrap. Istanbul’s food is top notch amazing. US turkish food can not compare🤤🤤🤤🤤

I spent two months in Istanbul last year - hands down my favorite 'vacation' ever. Great food, people, and cheap ferry rides (that I took advantage of almost daily)! I stayed in the Kadiköy neighborhood, near the crazy streets with shops and restaurants. There's a menemen place called Meşhur Menemenci Cemal Polat that I visited almost every day for breakfast ... menemen with white cheese and a small tea! I really need to go back!
