Since it’s release, the Sonic movie has been a surprise ray of sunshine in an otherwise bleak year, with the blue blur charming fans and non-fans alike. While there was at first trepidation in regards to the movie with fans outraged at the initial design for the character- who sported small eyes and weird human features- the movie ended up being a smash hit after these wrongs were righted. The movie has been massively popular since it’s release and it has continued to be one of the highest streamed movies of the year ever since it’s February release. Unsurprisingly, a sequel was quickly confirmed and with mid credit scenes teasing potential storylines (spoiler alert) with Dr Robotnik marooned on the Mushroom Planet as well as a quick glimpse of Sonic’s loyal ally Tails making an appearance in Montana.
In this video, we will focus on the latter and what Tails’ reveal will mean for the sequel and how he will fit in. We look at some of the theories, hints and comments made from the writers themselves as to what to expect for the two tailed fox- including parallels to the MCU, possible voice actors to play the part and how Tails could expand the Sonic Universe. So put on your best running shoes and get ready to dash through the world of Sonic!

Jim Carrey's portrayal of the iconic villain won fans' hearts over. With his official name being Dr. Ivo Robotnik before getting the Eggman moniker, his humorous take on the character is one thing from the movie that should return in the sequel.

i hope tails is used as a great character because tails is my fave and so is shadow

I hope that when Shadow appears in the 3rd or 4th film that his portrayal is the Character from Sonic Adventure 2 and Sonic 06. Both interpretations were fantastic.

I think Tails would stick with O'Shauna, because she played everyone's favorite Two-Tailed Fox, perfectly. As to what might happen in the Sequel, Tails might also stay on Earth with Sonic, Tom and Maddie. They might also visit Mobius more frequently, just to treat some possible home sickness and to visit Longclaw, if she makes an appearance.

I'm hoping we get a live-action Mega Man adaptation and then he and Sonic will crossover, just like in the Worlds Collide Archie comics. Imagine it! Sonic and Mega Man in Super forms, Eggman and Dr. Wily working together, the multiverse-altering Genesis Wave, and more! If they're gonna make it like more the MCU, with alternate universes and characters crossing over and working together, then I think that'd make it on par with Avengers. If it's done right, of course.
