Following George Galloway’s Rochdale controversial by-election win, Prime Minister Rishi Sunak used a Friday evening address to warn that democracy is being targeted by extremists.

Speaking at a lectern outside the doors of No 10 Downing Street, Mr Sunak warned of “forces here at home trying to tear us apart,” in the aftermath of the October 7 attacks by Hamas against Israel.

Sunak also said the Workers Party of Britain leader’s victory in the by-election was “beyond alarming”.On the other side, Labour has apologised to the voters of Rochdale for not fielding a candidate after Mr Galloway’s triumph.

Sir Keir Starmer’s party warned Mr Galloway will stoke “fear and division” and said he “only won because Labour did not stand” after it dropped its candidate Azhar Ali for suggesting Israel was complicit in Hamas’ October 7 attack.

Mr Galloway, one of Britain’s most divisive politicians, swept to victory in the greater Manchester seat, gaining almost 40% of the vote in a contest mired in chaos and controversy and dominated by the Gaza conflict.

The former Labour and Respect MP took aim at the Labour leader in his victory speech focused on Palestine.Mr Galloway said: “Keir Starmer, this is for Gaza.

You have paid, and you will pay, a high price for the role that you have played in enabling, encouraging and covering for the catastrophe presently going on in occupied Palestine in the Gaza Strip.”

TalkTV’s Peter Cardwell is joined by the New Culture Forum’s Rafe Heydel-Mankoo and social policy analyst Dr. Rakib Ehsan, to break down the controversial by-election victory.

If there was a far right in this country we wouldn't have this imported problem.
  • Far right? So if you have common sense and want to protect British values and traditions and don’t believe what these politicians are saying is best for you. Does that mean you are Far Right?

💯% Rafe! Have not heard a more weak, obsequious, sniveling excuse for a Prime Minister than Sunak yesterday. He should resign as a courtesy to civil society
  • @Brookspirit
Tories ignore the fact left-wingers consider the Tories to be far-right. I'm sick of the Tories gaslighting the British people.
  • @markscript5746
Sunak is standard woke material like the rest of Westminster
  • @GretsGarbo
Rafe is spot on about George Galloway. George Galloway is on his own power trip. That's all he cares about.

Wow, Sunak lost his backbone when delivering that awful speech. He couldn't just say it like it is, it's not the supposed far right who's threatening anyone it's islam . What an absolute coward. Rafe, I wish you where leading our country because by goodness , I and millions of British people would know we were going to be ok. God bless you Rafe you're an absolute ⭐

The PMs speech was pathetic and weak even being shouted over by an enemy of the UK. The shouting went on far too long and the police should have immediately stepped in. But the PM said its up to the police if they want to uphold the law!
  • Can anyone tell me who the far right actually is because I have never heard or seen them.Dont say Tommy Robinson because he is never allowed to say anything or do anything.

The Prime Minister should offer the Islamists a choice of British First or a ticket back to their country of origin. The foreign flags should NOT be allowed in Britain. Only the Union Flag must be recognized. The Prime Minister is part of the problem, for allowing such hatred to take over and spread too fast.

When the Prime Miniature grouped Islamists and the so called far-right into the same group, I was perplexed and bewildered to say the least.

These are sad days for Britain. Hindu PM, Pakistani Islamic London Mayor and more and more pro Islamic MP's. I despair for Britains future. "British social cohesion expert" 😂 oh goodness gracious, there truly is not alot of hope for this once great nation. I always have to ask the question, as a true generational Brit, how long must I live in Tehran before I become Persian? Or how long must I live in Islamabad before I become Pakistani? Or how long must I live in Tokyo before I become Japanese? Truth is I cannot ever be those people because I am BRITISH and so were my vastly distant relatives. I am fed up of British identity being adopted and treated like it is just a piece of paper, or worse, treated like it was an ideology! I recently had a taxi driver from Pakistan, married to a Polish lady (both UK citizens) with three lovely "British" children. What makes them British besides some screwed up immigration and nationality legislation?

More power to you Rafe. Thank you for speaking the truth.
  • @miasewell1958
Sunak has contributed to this problem by allowing so many migrants in, mostly from a certain Religion
  • ANY parliament figure who goes against Britain and the British people shouldn't be allowed.... parliament is supposed to be for THIS country....not others and certainly NOT RELIGION!
  • Once they've got their foot in the door our whole way of life will change.Women will have to wear headscarves, alcohol will be banned, and LGBT'S will be in real trouble and won't be able to be honest about their sexuality. We should have tackled this decades ago, like cancer, the quicker it's dealt with the more chance you have of defeating it.I fear it could be too late to tackle it, as it has been allowed to grow unchallenged for too long.
