Masked Person Who Left 'Ransom Letter' at Door Was a Prank: Cops

Video released by police in Sheffield Lake, Ohio, shows a person in a scary Halloween-looking mask walking up to a homeowner's front steps and leaving an envelope in between the front and screen doors. The unidentified person dressed in all black heads back to a white pickup truck and gets inside the passenger seat. Police say "a ransom letter and photograph of a little girl were dropped off… and that the residents stated they did not know the little girl or recognize the vehicle." Their investigation later revealed it was all a prank! Inside Edition Digital has more.

    I remember when there used to be a purpose to a prank and they would at least try to be funny. This is just strange and creepy.

    Why would two "adults" do something like this? It's not funny in the at all. The police had to waste time & resources on this nonsense. Charges & community service. Set an example for the next person.

    A very sick individual, you cannot even call this a prank as it is that sick in the head. If you find a letter like that, especially if you have Children would be terrifying, but to use an actual photo of some Child, either your own daughter or a random child is very shocking and hopefully they arrest and detain this women under mental health. You could also really call this terrorism, as it was an act that would cause terror and distress to the people getting the letter.

    See, if there had not been a ransom letter, it would of been funny since she is an associate and the mask is hilarious. I'd laugh if I saw my husband's work friend do that. But the ransom letter of the kid was too far and creepy.
