Thanks for breaking down which blasters were toys on the show! I learn something new every day from this franchise. Always love your BTS expertise!
  • With the "I miss when they didn't use CG" argument, I feel its really limiting. We shouldn't be angry at it, CGI is just a another way to do all the special effects, its just a another tool to do the art.
  • Awesome video. I love the 1:1 aspect of toys and show props. Also it's cool hearing it from you who have worked on the show! :D
  • @graefx
Man for someone that's been subbed for maybe a decade this is such a surreal video 😅 kids these days. I always assumed that was the selling point. It really hammered home with the Gokaiger keys. The US gosei morpher still one of my favorite though.
  • @Thatguy0318
That’s the reason I’m obsessed with morphers the fact some were used as props.
  • @Coool_Dood
This video was a lot more interesting than I thought it would be, would love to see more insight about film making in general (and how it relates to PR). The majority of the time I think it’s hard to tell props from toys, which is why I find this video really interesting, but did people really not notice the pink arm for season 3 ultrazord? It always stood out to me even as a kid.

Keeping the love for power rangers alive for me. Thanks Bruno!❤
  • @nightfox24w
Love seeing my toys in show I watch as kid, it was great
  • @filluppanda
I love these type of stuff, I always loved trying to figure out what was toys and what were actually props, it adds an extra fun to the shows
  • @magnabhb5392
I still can't get over how funny the animation for the Titanium ranger is. "It's morphin time!... Oh wait i forgot to press the button"
  • @yauyuso
I could be wrong about this but Japan slowly did the same thing with Kamen Rider. The transform items are either using the toy or something that is close to the toy version as much as they can.
  • @AlphaProto
Those are some very cool fact Bruno! So when kids role play Power Rangers, they are using accurate screen props. That is very cool.
  • Another super interesting video! It's cool that there's a lot of situations where the toy is either just the best thing for the job. Also, I could be wrong, but I don't think that any other channel touches on stuff like this, at least not to this extent, so thanks for sharing your unique knowledge.
  • I just got round house kicked into nostalgia with the wild force phone….I actually had that!!!!!
  • @kanoaikawach
Tokusatsu as a genre is all about practical effects. This does not surprise me.
  • 4:01 part of me likes to think you’ve tried (and failed) to use that on Mia only for her to be innocent
  • @Gangstor
Rangers isn't the only property to do this. Star Trek Enterprise had their prop department run to a Toys R US to buy up Art Asylum's phaser from their Enterprise line to use on the show when they needed more prop guns on the quick. The only difference with the toy was the orange barrel tip that they just painted over. And Deep Space Nine made Ferengi phasers from the legs of Robotech mecha they bought at TRU on clearance 😂
  • If they use a toy as a prop, you get a prop as a toy. I didn’t think Power Rangers did the same with the American toys but I could see Super Sentai did because of the quality difference. That fact is what inspired me to collect them
  • @gekisou
Love it. I feel like its more common for the US version (Power Rangers) to use toys as props as those are readily available by then. And I love it. And the DinoZords to Thunderzords sequence, while I always suspected that they used the toys, I never knew they went full puppets with them. Another awesome vid Bruno. Thanks.
