Regular Show Spinoff and More Projects Planned for 2025

Published 2024-06-15
At the Annecy Animation Film Festival on June 12, Warner Bros Discovery announced various projects in the works and some that have actually been greenlit over at Cartoon Network Studios, Hanna Barbera Studios Europe, and WB Animation. Most interestingly, there's an Regular Show spinoff in development that is slated for 2025/2026 at the earliest.

Other projects announced include Gumball season 7, The Gumball Movie, Adventure Time: Side Quests, The Adventure Time Movie, Heyo BMO, Foster's Funtime for Imaginary Friends, Barbara Throws a Wobbler, Go-Go Mystery Machine, Lovey Dovey, Bad Karma, Haha You Clowns, Oh My God Yes, Get Giro, Supermutant Magic Academy, Invincible Fight Girl, Smiling Friends season 3, and Totally Spies season 7-8. Their slate for 2025 onwards is spectacular and

I do not mind the reboots and spinoffs since nobody is forcing me to watch them, but they should also make a new CN original EVENTUALLY. When's the last one we got that wasn't based on a pre-existing franchise or a reboot/spinoff, Tig n' Seek in 2020?

Despite all the restructuring, tax write-offs and change of management disrupting everything in the past few years, the storm has finally passed and WBD has somewhat returned to normalcy. They've been stagnant since around 2021 with a new show here and there once in a blue moon, but it seems like they are back to business.

Old Cartoon Network is back I watch Gumball sometimes 🙃
  • The Foster's Home spin-off has been greenlit, giving me hope for Craig McCracken's other project, a continuation of The Powerpuff Girls.

I wouldn’t be surprised that if the bring back Regular Show or Adventure Time that they would end up in Adult Swim being how CN treats cartoons made for older children and teens since their focus lately has been the preschool and younger children demographic.
  • Bro, the doster’s Idea is good to me. Wether you like it or not. I just wanna watch the new Foster’s funtime show so badlyyyyyyy, so I don’t have to wait another month. This show was made for a good reason because Craig and Lauren have a kid. I know the little ones would enjoy this, along their parents, kind of like the same thing as Bluey. Even Craig planned it to be good as Bluey. Idc if I’m not a preschooler, I’m gonna watch it anyways! Bc it would make me cry happy tears.
  • I am excited for Regular show returning and I am excited for The amazing world of gumball season 7 and Gumball movie

If Regular Show is getting a reboot planned, I cannot say I'm surprised if William Salyers and Mark Hamill are not going to reprise as their roles, and the creator (JG Quintel) hired new voice actors for Rigby and Skips; namely these guys: Dee Bradley Baker and John DiMaggio. I wouldn't mind if the RS reboot had that change in casting.

Cartoon Network has gotten better over these past few years!

Looks like 2025 is gonna be the best year in the 2020s for animation yet

I was The amazing World of gumball movie comes out whenever you've been released for 2025 before after a new season of gumball.
  • I’m looking forward most to gogo mystery machine. You are definitely a better channel than DC network. He seems to keep wallowing in the past while you’re always looking forward to the future. I’m enjoying binge watching my adventures of Superman since I was in Florida and couldn’t watch the show when it was coming out live.

I'm really looking forward for Cartoon Network's I hope getting better future ahead considering 2022-2023 was the network's worst years yet and I blamed the hire ups and shitty management over at WBD for this situation.
  • @m56214
They need new cartoons too and also wonder when we will see the Cartoon Cartoons Shorts Program pilots
  • @TheMistaMan
I really hope the around the time when the fosters reboot comes out cartoon network or boomerang does a foster's marathon to hype up the premire, because my god WBD has been treating foster's (along with the other mid-late 2000's CN shows) like trash
