the Karen-haircut driver in the G wagon really adds to the realism

With a black G wagon I can now make the obligatory action movie chase scene in Paris or Monaco with generic suit wearing bad guys.
  • The transition from 6-wide to 8-wide Speed Champions will go down as a revolutionary moment in Lego's history. It's given us some of THE best and most innovative building techniques of all time, it's resulted in a slew of new parts moulds, and very interesting collaborations with different brands. I can't wait to see what else the Speed Champions team gives us next. Absolutely phenomenal theme, #1 for me, followed by Friends and Monkie Kid.

I always appreciate the fact that you apply all the stickers perfectly. Really it elevates the look.

The curves on both cars are insane. Lego is really setting the bar higher and higher for future projects. Soon we're gonna have 800 piece sets for just one car lol

I keep wanting Lego to bring back one of my favourite lines of the early 90s - Model Team, where they made there most realistic sets that they could at that time. I now see that they don't need to bring it back - because they are producing hyper-realistic sets at the smallest scale possible - without needing to go supersize anymore. That truck honestly give me that old Model-Team feeling, which makes me want Lego to perhaps now branch out from cars exclusively in the Speed Champions line - and make hyper-realistic boats/helicopters/light aircraft at this scale too now, just like Model Team did.
  • Its so true that we get spoiled with building techniques … after a while you get used to it, but funnily enough there is always that ONE THING they manage to get in there where you go: woah that was creative! I remember buying my first ever speed champion set and being Blown away with how it was built. Now I have way too many lego Cars… like I literally have No idea where to put them all…

East Europe here. The G wagon is an iconic mafia mobster car from the 90s. Its iconic, with the black color it represents the menace of a car very well. Funny trivia: once I spoke to a mercedes car dealer asking why the doors slam like on an old Lada considering this is a 100k € vehicle. He goes, mercedes decided to keep this “feature” also on the exclusive premium models so that 90s era mafia members can enjoy the nostalgia😂

wow wow wow. Absolutely exquisite designs, Speed Champions continues to impress and blow me away. This set has me seriously tempted even though I don't care one bit for the source material.

I really like that G wagon. Perfectly square for lego. The back of the car looks great too

I like your full thoughts, though they take longer they are really insitfull (also your voice is really calming after a long day)
  • I just watched the shorter video. I personally like the longer videos, your videos have always had a certain charm to them where you feel very relaxed and calm. You get your ideas out, the flow is right, and I personally like the longer videos. That being said I understand if you stick with the short form because they are quicker

The SL looks way better on camera than in the renders! Wow! These are great models!

Great review, as always Jang. You’re the person to whom I go to when I want a thorough, independent review. Keep up the great work!
  • @ElenaJuradox
Great review! I’m not really interested in cars but these look so cool and satisfying as Lego, I would love to build them. I quite like the “standard lenght” review, the details make me happy :)
  • Phenomenal set. One of the few 2 packs which I feel subjectively is worth buying for both vehicles. Really love to see more variety, and hope to see more SUV styled builds in the theme.
