Streets of Fire is a 1984 action film directed by Walter Hill and set in a retro-futuristic urban landscape. The film follows the story of Tom Cody (played by Michael Paré), a tough and brooding soldier of fortune who returns to his hometown to rescue his ex-lover, rock singer Ellen Aim (played by Diane Lane), who has been kidnapped by a dangerous biker gang led by the menacing Raven Shaddock (played by Willem Dafoe).
Tom teams up with Ellen's manager, Billy Fish (played by Rick Moranis), and a tough-as-nails female mechanic, McCoy (played by Amy Madigan), to embark on a high-octane rescue mission. Along the way, they engage in thrilling action sequences, including intense street battles and car chases set to a rocking soundtrack.
Streets of Fire is known for its unique blend of 1950s rock 'n' roll aesthetics and 1980s action sensibilities, creating a visually stylish and energetic film that captures the essence of a comic book come to life. It's a tale of love, loyalty, and revenge set against a backdrop of neon-lit streets and pulsating music, making it a cult classic of the 1980s.

Great movie with great music.

Chicago was the perfect setting for this movie. South end of the Loop with the L-trains provided an amazing backdrop for all the major scenes. I still re-watch this on CD, which replaced the original VHS. One of my top 10 movies all-time! (I'm 70)

My favorite William Dafoe movie was The Florida Project. He played a good person in situations that request such a person.

My friends and I always thought Michael Pare & Rik Rossovitch were fantastic & handsome actors! We were hoping to see Michael Pare in the talked about Streets of Fire sequels that never happened.

Dafoe should have gotten an Oscar for the Green Goblin! Nobody could've played that role better.
