The Saturn car co. went out of business in October of 2010.

Just went bankrupt...Scotty did you get beamed up to the enterprise for a few decades? Holy Hanna
  • I had a 08 Malibu which looks like this car exactly. It run fine at 165K miles, so I traded it in on a new Impala. Impala has never given me a problem.
  • @ken2400
Wife had a 1992 Saturn SL2 LOVED the spin on transmission filter. Looked like an oil filter.
  • You must have got struck by lightning sleeping in you driveway they went away over a decade ago ! They didn’t go bankrupt they GM just stopped making them .
  • My Saturn Sky, 4 cylinder, no turbo, was one of the best cars I ever owned.
  • Drive a 1983 Benz 300D that is just broke in. With 676,500 miles. going strong.

We still run a 2005 Buick LeSabre, but knowing how bad that Dex-Cool was, particularly on head gaskets, we quickly switched it over to full concentrate green (black cap) Prestone. I've also run the same 100% rated coolant on my 2003 Dodge Caravan, and never had any coolant problems with it at that strength. I don't like ANY water in the coolant!

This is my parents' Opel Vectra!

New cars from now on are garbage. Stock up on 90s and mid 2000s Japanese cars and American pickup trucks

Saturns werent bad. They gave people free car washes, doors were undentable, and they were reliable. The vue even had a Honda Engine Also i got a commercial for bankruptcy lawyer during this vid lol
  • My dad worked for Anchor Fasteners. They made parts for the big three, and he was one of the toolmakers they chose to make original stampings for the top secret car line GM was starting. GM held all their suppliers to a higher standard on Saturn, sending back tons of parts if even one was wrong. It was a good effort, but the bean counters did the company in
  • @motoboy3813
I have a 2008 Saturn aura 2.4 L four-cylinder with 301,000 miles still runs like a charm and with the six speed transmission
  • @brycefelperin
My wife has one. It's about 16 years old and runs great.
  • Thank you Scotty for years of advice. Your historical knowledge is priceless too. Stay well Dude 👍
  • I bought a used Saturn while living in Hawaii, I drove it for 10 yrs only had it in machakos once but every year it had to pass a safety check and it passed every year. Someone tried prying the window to get in but didnt get inside but I had to take the window out but it was warm and sunny most days. When I got ready to move back to Ohio I gave the car to the church and it was still running great.
  • Saturn was an independent startup company from Burbank CA. that was building their cars in one of the former Lockheed aircraft plants. They plant was making progress in sales in the 1985 through 1990s. When GM decided to buy it out and make them they eventually discontinued the line. We've owned 2. The first one was a lease and we turned it in to purchase the second which we still have after 22 years. It's been a great car. As long as you do the regular recommended upkeep on them they last a long time.
