Great analysis. For decades everyone whined about how OSU was just a football factory for NFL players & how most of their good players never stayed for their Sr years. Now they use most of what they spent in NIL money to bring back 7 or so draftable Jrs, 2 who would have been drafted even as high as the late first or early 2nd round, & now they're supposedly "buying" a championship by giving their own proven players some NIL money too? Keep hating haters. The Buckeyes, with Ryan Day leading the way, are way ahead on the NIL/portal game, even with the strictest, most rigorous compliance department in college athletics.

Your mention of Ted Carter deserves more attention. Carter, is a BAD MOFO. I mean in the LITTERAL SENSE. Highly decorated combat pilot for the US Navy. Served to full retirement. Last stationed as the US NAVAL academy chancellor of the Naval Warfare Academy. Retired with the rank of Vice Admiral. That alone is a full life for most people, but Ted did not rest on his laurels and go find his rocking chair. He took over as the President of the University of Nebraska and in 2023 accepted the position of University President at THE Ohio State University.

The first Ohio State game i happened upon as a wee lad was the 2002 NC game. I grew up in Ohio, my grandpa was a big browns fan, we went to several browns games and HOF games, but I was never really exposed to the Buckeyes. All the same I just took it as a natural that we were playing for the natty and likewise that we ended up winning, not even realizing the true enormity of it all. I watched that game alone. My there older brothers were not even interested. What an amazing quarter century of OSU football it has been and I think it's about to get even better.

Great take and analysis. The Buckeyes are the Yankees of college football. Everyone loves to hate them because they are so good every year. It’s all jealousy. When you factor in everything they are the premier program in college football. They also didn’t have to cheat because they couldn’t win the rivalry like TCUN. The beating they will deliver to them this year will be record setting. Day will run it up big time.

Went to my first Buckeye game in 1961 when I was a sophomore in high school how many of you people out there and who played on that team we watch them beat Southern Cal at Ohio State quit whining about the Buckeyes we have the biggest fan base in the nation and we will always Prevail go Bucks
