3 yrs later and ur video still helping ppl. Good stuff man tnx.
  • Almost two years later and you saved me a hundred bucks. Thank you for the video!!!
  • Everyone can thank our government for this Problem, The DOE (Department Of Energy) had a law passed to have these (power limiters) put on all ceiling fans, Hunter, Harbor Breeze etc, it is a grand scheme to lowery energy usage .Mine went out after about two years of service. With a little head scratching and research i figured it out. Great video, thanks for the help
  • This was SO HELPFUL! My husband was going crazy trying to figure out why the fan would turn on but not the lights. He couldn't believe there could be any problems with a new Hunter ceiling fan!!! He spent a lot of time checking the wiring and wall switches before he watched this video. God Bless You for going out of your way to help other people fix this problem!

Thank you so much!! Had the exact same issue and exact same solution. Would have never been able to solve this without your video. Called Hunter customer service and naturally they were no help so thank you!!
  • Thanks for posting this. I have taken the light kit down and had no idea where to start after new bulbs, testing the light switch. You saved me from some very intemperate language and a trip to Home Depot for a new fan. Nice work!

Hey Mayhem. Thanks for the video. Bought a Hi end Hunter a little over a year ago and bulbs blew out and it never came back on. Glad I found your video and you saved me a lot of money and headaches. Not to mention time. Rock on brother.

This video saved me a lot of time, frustration and money. This was my exact problem. Thank you for taking the time to share with others!

Hey man, thanks so much. Same exact model, I actually pulled up this video as my old man drove us to Home Depot, I even had the light fixture in my lap. We literally broke out in a fit of incredulous laughter in the parking lot as we pulled it out, and saw carbonated soot on the wires. Works just fine, saved money, keep up the good work, brother.

Thank You for this video!! My fan has been broke for years and I decided to fix it tonight!! This was the problem!!! Some people call it a “thermal switch.” Idk, but it’s eliminated now and I got lights!! THANKS AGAIN!!

2024 and you still helping folks, thank you for your video!

This fix worked perfectly. I had already replaced one light fixture, but ran across this video before I replaced the other two Hunter units that were doing the same thing. It literally took me 10 minutes to fix both of them. Thank you!!
  • dude for years this has been bugging me with both the units we have! I never found a "fuse" when I originally tried fixing it so i gave up. idk why I had the ambition to rip them apart again today but before I started cutting wires I figured I would search youtube to see if anyone else had the same thing going on and already figured it out, and sure as shit you did! Thanks man!

This video was very helpful. Thank you. All the other sources I consulted said to replace the pull switch but I tested it with a continuity tester and knew it was good. Had it not been for your video I would not have discovered the limitor was the problem.
  • @Andrew-go5cm
I had this EXACT same problem. This video is the only thing I could find anywhere that was helpful. I bought a hunter fan brand new one week ago. I removed that small piece like you explained and viola now we have light! Also - Hunter included lights that DO NOT fit the sockets. Wish I had a bought a different brand.

Thank you so much for making this video. Two and half years later I was able to fix my light. I loved the fan so I did without the light for about a year. Once I followed the steps in the video. I now have LIGHTS!!! YAY!!!
  • Many , many thanks! I went through so much effort: checking wiring circuits, swapping light kits - Hunter customer service was of no help. I was ready to replace the fans (two with the same problem on a 3-way switch). You saved the day!
  • @wamo62
Thank you so much for this video! I was just installing two brand new$269 Hunter Great Room fans and could not figure out why the light wouldn't work. I had resolved to calling our electrician back (newly built house) but thought I would check YouTube first. I am sure glad I did! Thanks again.
  • THANK YOU!! Like so many others, this has been driving us CRAZY!!!! Your fix worked perfectly, and was well-explained. Thank you!!!
