I’m a side sleeper and recently have been experiencing shoulder pain and neck stiffness. I came across this video in my feed, tried it, and last night had the deepest, most restful sleep I’ve had in a long time. Thanks guys, you’re doing a public service.
  • @melyterry1843
Thank you for the tips!I work in a nursing home and I have a resident that is in so much shoulder pain.Cant wait to try this on her .Seing her comfortable in her sleep is my kinda joy as a care giver.

These 2 men are a blessing to most of us who have pain here and there. God bless them.
  • You guys have helped my shoulders better than any orthopedic surgeon could. They are quick to advise replacement but with your suggestions for sleep and exercises, I am no longer in constant pain...changing out of a tee shirt is still a challenge but waking up in agony is no longer the norm. Thanks!
  • @TheTinyTuna
Even if they said that they cant heal a broken heart, their personalities just make me smile all the time. Thank you Bob & Brad

I've been dealing with a frozen shoulder, plus some tears in the tendons of my right shoulder, for the past year. I'm a side sleeper and I can tell you that the advice in this video was a game changer! Using extra pillows the way Bob and Brad demonstrated has made a significant improvement in my shoulder. Thank you so much!
  • @siuyu1936
Brilliant advice. Exactly what I need to deal with my shoulder ache. Thank you ❣️
  • As an OT I’ve been giving these pillow recommendations for joint protection for some time - and I also added a recommendation from my own experience - a bed rail! I always end up knocking pillows to the side, subtracting or adding through the night as I alternate positions (bc I need pillows for my hips too!!). Now I don’t have to pick them up off the floor in the middle of the night and they’re not a tripping hazard / fall risk either :)
  • @corax2012
I never sleep in one position. I'm a tosser and turner. All those pillows would be across the room. :)
  • @tedmart4212
"This really makes a big difference" Amen to that. I tried your idea of a pillow under my rib cage. Worked incredibly well. Shoulder pain is almost gone. Thank you for your excellent advice. you guys are awesome!!!!
  • This is helpful! I have had three rotator cuff surgeries and my right shoulder probably needs a replacement. I have difficulty sleeping on my back and also use a clap machine. All this means I rarely sleep more than 5 hours at night. I end up dozing in a chair during the day. I have been sleeping on two pillows under my head to lift the pressure on my shoulders as I sleep on my side. I have so much joint pain from both osteo and psoriatic arthritis and have had three spinal surgeries with multiple fusions. I have an implanted spinal stimulator for pain control. I also have significant neuropathy in my legs and arms. I am under the care of a neurological pain clinic. This is the first video of yours I’ve seen and am subscribing. Thanks for this advice.

Making a canal for my shoulder has helped my shoulder pain tremendously!! Can’t thank you both enough!!
  • @lexconor8498
Years ago I came up with this very solution for side sleeping, and what a difference it made! I use thicker pillows than the ones they used under both my ribs and my hips. I added a thin pillow below my usual latex head pillow to make up the resulting height difference of my neck and head. I later added a "knee" pillow. This configuration took me from tossing and turning multiple times a night - AND shoulder pain! - to sleeping like the dead. I barely move for hours on end. It's been life changing!
  • @ImSuitsMe
Your first suggestion I saw about posture helped amazingly instantly. Years of pain gone! It still hurts at night so I can't wait to try this.
  • @samuellouis4940
This is so wholesome somehow 😭 The way you two deliver it is just so soothing and comfy ✨ Thanks for the tips, Bob & Brad!
  • I was a stomach sleeper for years and from time to time I still sleep on my tummy. However since having shoulder pain I started sleeping on my back and got a pregnancy pillow that does a lot of what you guys stated. It makes so much sense because a lot of times I do add pillows on the side to lift my arms up. Thank you so much for what you guys do! It has been a tremendous help with managing back neck and shoulder pain. A lot of times when I bring the concerns up to doctors they just tell me to lose weight. However, it's hard to lose weight when you're always in pain. This is why you guys are so great.
  • I'm a side sleeper and this is exactly what has caused my shoulder to go crippled. I bought a shoulder brace to keep me from rolling over to my side of the hurt shoulder. Keeping a body pillow on your back is comfortable
  • @black_vikiiing
I tried to create a canal and put an extra pillow like demonstrated at the 3:00 min since I'm a side sleeper and guys did I get a good night sleep! No more back nor shoulder pain! Kind of awkward at first but the results are wow for me! Thank you!

Love this. You are more helpful that regular physical therapy, with the exception of RedCord teacher. But you two further explaining the positions is invaluable.. thank you from the bottom of my heart
