I have been waiting for this moment - scotty talks about exact same car I own
  • @davidhyde9310
I had a good friend that bought one of those. Same model, also Quattro. I helped him service it. Constant transmission problems. Had to REPLACE the transmission 3 TIMES. Fortunately, my friend bought a service plan/insurance, which paid for the transmissions. He finally sold it in disgust.

Don't ever buy a German car if you do not intend on following the maintenance schedule religiously. I love VW/Audi, but only because I accept the cost of the regular maintenance.
  • @itsonlyniles
Owned an a4, s4, passat and gti. Never had issues with the vag group. Just do your maintenance
  • @coachonpoint
“Did he go from the fire into the frying pan (BMW to Audi).. .ROTF, ouch! But so true!…😂😂😂

I saw a video of a guy proving that when you suck the oil out of the dipstick, you don't leave a bunch of slug or even oil behind. He sucked it out and then took the oil plug off. Nothing came out. So I change my Mercedes oil that way now. The drain plug is in a position that sprays oil all over the frame, if you don't use something to make it turn downward. Before getting a suction oil changer, I used an old plastic oil container and cut it to guide the oil downward into the drain pan.
  • @joe_ferreira
All cars should have the oil changed every 5k miles. I'm not sure why he makes such a big point in this video about Audi needing it. Everyone needs to do this to all vehicles.
  • I have a 2014 Q5 premium plus 2.0t it’s super easy to work on, and has the perfect blend of luxury and reliability. It does have some major faults like the turbo and timing system, but once you get those fixed there’s nothing better for the price
  • I have a 1999 Audi A6 Avant quattro , I maintain it meticulously , regular oil changes and transmission oil an filter changes , runs smooth and shifts the same and I have 234 800 plus miles on it , been a great car... But Maintenance with an Audi is a Must for longevity..
  • @Emsny
Audi a3 1,2 tfsi. Had no issues whatsoever lol. Maintanance is key obviously.
  • @N4HHE
Oil evacuators work very well for engines designed for. Daimler Mercedes-Benz 3.0K diesel for example. Sucked the oil out of mine then removed the drain plug. Nothing came out, no drip no nothing. Never removed the plug again. (Didn’t have a magnet.) The M-B engine’s dip stick tube reached the very bottom of the crankcase pan. Didn’t insert a tube, just attached the extractor to the top of the dipstick tube. Was surprised a Harbor Freight Chinesium oil extractor fit perfectly.
  • @cole4987
the 3.0 TFSI supercharged engine has been great for me so far. I do all my maintenance. ATF, Engine oil, fuel filter, plugs, coils, water pump, thermostat, etc. basically anything I'm able to do myself. Only get a German car if you're willing to work on it is my advice.
  • @MichaelSr-sp5pw
Had a 1980 Toyota tercel. Spring popped through rusted out trunk.
  • @williamgarciasv
Hello Scotty, great video as usual. Just a quick question, what is your most reliable mini van?
  • I live in Nevada, I'm glad we don't use salt for Roads and Ice removal....They just use Volcanic pumice laid down for traction that gets kicked up off the road and pits your paint and windshield
  • @Fuxerz
I got 2017 audi S7 V8 twin turbo no problems ever. Take care of them.
  • @tokyotopp
3:23 don’t give them any idea Scotty! Next thing you know cars will come out the factory with no drain plugs. Instead 2 dipstick holes, one for checking the oil and the other for an insert tube to suck it out.😂
  • @ThePelon239
The same can be said for every car.. due the preventative maintenance when your suppose to and pretty much any car and it will treat you well . Still got both my 03 and 05 dodge running great
