I hate that they said Nobunaga died in 1598! It was Toyotomi Hideyoshi that died in 1598!

I’m almost positive that foot binding was never practiced in Japan. It was a strictly Chinese custom.

Thank you very much for your much Interesting video. I found it fascinating...

I know that foot-binding was practiced in China, but have never encountered any references to it having been done in Japan. (I am dubious on this point.)

I don’t like to complain, but the battle of Sekigahara was not the first Japanese battle won by muskets. Nobunaga used them to huge advantage years before. Maybe the biggest battle or most important, but false to say anything near first.
  • It was Not Nobunaga in 1598...it was totutomi hideyoshi who died and had a young heir,6 yrs old.iyeyasu togugawa set him up in Osaka Castle. Finally killing him in 1615🤔🇯🇵⛩️
  • What's with the stereotypical Chinese music for a documentary talking about Japan?
  • @Peekingduck
It starts off with a mistake as far as creation myth goes...

Major error... the part when they mention Nobunaga. He was referring to Hideyoshi Toyotomi, one of Nobugana's generals, who gained the title of Shogun after Nobugana. His son Hideyori confronted Ieyasu's army at the battle of Sekigahara

I just started watching the first few minutes of this video, but one thing I noticed is the BGM clearly sounds Chinese, not Japanese. Anyway, I'll go on watching the rest of it.

Ah so refreshing, this was from when Aikido was still considered an affective martial art. An innocent albeit ignorant age.

  • I really wish Odyssey had any documentaries that were less than 30 years old.

Japan is beautiful. In it's understanding and acceptance of Reality. This is also why Japan is so formidable.
