I'm very happy with my 3060. My upgrade was from a GTX 970. It runs smoothly, games look, and play great. For a 12gen CPU, 32GB Ram, and a Samsung 230Hz 1080p monitor, it's all I need right now.

I have had a 3060 for the past few years. I will buy a more powerful card, mess with it for a bit, and sell it on. The 3060 is a great little card.
  • I got an RTX 3060 a couple years ago for about $400. It's still a great card with Fallout 4, Skyrim, Tiny Tina's Wonderland, Subnautica, and Fallout 76 looking well. It pairs well with my Ryzen 3 3200 G with 16 gig 3200 ram, built in 2020. If you think my rig is old, the case is an alienware from 2005!

The 3060 actually does pretty well on 1440p somehow, You can get 60fps usually on 1440p. Even on the last of us I was able to reach 60 - 80fps using dlss. I think ill get an upgrade at some point but this card is fantastic for the cost

The 3060 12GB is a great card for under $300.00. I seen them as low as $239.99.
  • I bought a 3060 TI in November and have loved it so far. No issues with drivers or hiccups in games at all.

a 3060 12gig is a very capable card especially working with AI image generation.

I got a new msi 3050 6gb. I'm working my house and cars. It's nice to see and play with the technology. Suits my needs for now, msi makes a great product.
  • You can just choose your fan curves on msi afterburner with any card can't you?
  • Depending on games, 3060 can be good enough. It also power efficient and 12 GB of RAM is good. If you play latest AAA titles on ultra it will not make it, but lower to high 1080p and you will be good to go, maybe sometimes with DLSS. It still a solid card, people who think otherwise just have not tried it.

A reliable little 1080p card with no vram issues. You can even run it on 1440p and have some fun. Even 4k is possible but at low framerates around 30fps.

I am using a 3060 and I'm glad I got the card. In our country the card is still going new for over 300$ which is just absurd. I got mine during the whole crypto hype which was expensive but I still needed a good enough GPU for that time so I just had to make a decision. The card performs well with my R5 3600 delivering 60fps on native res on newly released ghost of tsushima title.

    I got MSI 3060 12GB with i5 13600k ... Absolutely loving it!

I just bought one too to replace mine. I just didn't want to lay out $700+ for a card that also has 12 gb. When this one is fine. It was $275 US dollars on sale. I just didn't feel the upgrade was worth the price right now.

If you have 1080 ti , no reason to get this one as it's more or less the same performance. with less power draw. Get at least a 6800XT/7800XT/7900 GRE or 3080/4070.
  • @Unreal-Noob
For 1080p@60Hz 3060 12G is more than adequate and budget solution even with max graphics settings. If you use DLSS and Frame Generation, of course. I mean it keep close to 60fps(dlss quality, FSR3 FG) in CP2077 path tracing enabled, and up to 100 fps in CitySample demo.
  • @kren4449
Wouldn't you be better off with an amd card if you want a cheaper card with lot's of vram and a good price/performance? Unless you intend to run nvidia specific pro software or something... but for gaming.... not like either of them is going to be fast enough with ray tracing for that to matter
  • This card should be fairly good with the latest frame generation mod.
  • @ofon2000
I have a friend that bougght a 3060 because he needed something with low power draw as well as a GPU that would run WoW at 4k well and didn't have a completely gimped memory bus and lane count when it came to running with a ryzen 3600 which is pcie 3.0. He bought it in 2024 because there was pretty much nothing else except the 4070 which is more power than he wanted to draw as well as about twice as expensive for 90% more performance which means it's a bit less cost efficient for the performance. No good options for him...

The 3060 12GB (Specifically) is an amazing 1080p-1440p NATIVE Medium-Ultra Esports and well optimized AAA card. You can still play anything under the sun demanding or just plain not well optimized with balanced or quality DLSS. I am not a fan of DLSS and prefer native resolution and lower settings before using it, but it does work.
