Filmed during Gerard Way's last Australian tour in 2015, we took the My Chemical Romance frontman comic book shopping and the Umbrella Academy creator did not disappoint. Picking up his favourite anime, manga and toys, now that My Chemical Romance has returned we thought it only fitting to share this glorious corner of Gerard Way's brain.

If I were in that store, I’d be looking at him, thinking, “that guy looks a lot, like ‘Gerard Way’ from MCR”, then go about my business; never knowing that was actually ‘Gerard Way’.

When you look at Gerard you always see such a small, gentle little being. He seems incredibly modest, shy even, and it would be easy to just look right past him. You almost forget that this is the absolute badass, sexy beast, with a voice that can tear down buildings. From three cheers to hesitant alien, this man is a fucking demon.
