Van Halen is NOT a hair band. They are straight up Rock N Roll.

This was the first Van Halen song I ever heard. It was so unique. Eddie's guitar and David's vocals. And the driving bass and drums. It was like "Wait, what? Who is that!?!?!"

I was going to say that too Van Halen debut album released in 1978. Day one, listen to more on that album. There are NO bad songs. Every one is amazing!!

Van Halen invented the sound of the 80s, right from the first track on their first album, this one. With Zeppelin and such still going strong, these guys just went a different direction.

Early 80's, through early 90's was the hair band era! You're right, it wasn't just about the hair, that was just part of it then! Tons of great rockin' tunes, great bands, videos, and concerts! 💪👍👌🎸🤟

I was a junior in high school, when my friend told me that I need to listen to this new debut album, Van Halen. What I heard blew me away! Up until then, I never heard an unconventional guitar player, who played lead, rhythm and fills at the same time. Even the recording of the album had a minimum of overdubs. 'Eruption' and 'On Fire' are my favorite standout tracks.

This song was the world's introduction to Van Halen. They had gained lots of popularity around Los Angeles for a couple years and then they released their first album here in 1978.

My fav all time band!! This album which came out in 78 changed my life! And was one of the best debut albums ever! Game changer for sure!

Love this band ! David and sammy i didn't mind either ! I mean they are different singers ! All these songs people react too i have listened to them a billion times over live on radio when there was Mtv and all that fun music !
