Bosch Serie 4 Washing Machine - 6 Months On - Still Recommended??

Published 2020-10-22
My wife and I offer our opinions, likes and dislikes of the Bosch Serie 4 - 8Kg load washing machine that we bought and reviewed 6 months ago. Do we still rate it? Watch to find out...

  • Nice one mate, I had a 2016/2017 one and it worked pretty well, although it didn't last that long. In November 2023 we discovered that it was making a extremely loud painful banging noise when spinning and a rough rubbing noise when agitating apparently the drum spider broke and it was so bad that it couldn't be repaired so now of 24/3/24 it will get dismantled in a hardwaste removal :(
  • Love your videos on this machine! :) makes me wish I went for a Bosch instead of a hoover machine a while back before lockdown! Thank you
  • Greetings Tim, We just bought the Bosch Series 6 of your same model yesterday. Interested to know how is your Bosch holding up now that it’s nearly August 2022 in a few days time! Your videos are great and very informative. 😊👍🏻 Our AEG after 23yrs finally gave up the ghost. Powerful 1600rpm that really kicked butt!😂😂😂😂. We heard about Bosch and researched all the reviews, mostly favourable. Since there are showrooms in Cape Town and Johannesburg and the machines are well supported with parts not overly expensive, that was our cue to embrace Bosch 👍🏻. The show room facilitator told me over the phone that 1 client had their machine for nearly 30yrs! Which meant he bought theirs late 1980s or early 1990s! 👍🏻 That’s impressive… but could also only mean he did only 1 wash a month….???🤣🤣🤣 Jokes aside, Bosch is certainly no new kid on the block! Cheers John.

The first Bosch washing machine I bought lasted 18 years. My current one is now 8 years old and still going strong.

This comment is quite late but (for anyone reading) you can disable ALL the beeps! (button beeps, end of cycle...).The instructions are towards the end of the owner's manual

Hi Tim, is this washing machine still working? I know that Bosch are normally quite reliable! So I have bought the exact same one! Thanks for the in-depth review as some people don’t go into detail but you certainly have! Keep up the amazing work! By the way you can turn of the beeping at the end of the cycle.

I have one of these, and it's okay. The only disappointing thing is the maximum spin speed of 1400 - I would rather have a 1600 spin. I tried to find out where they are manufactured so contacted Bosch who gave me a very evasive reply saying their machines are manufactured world wide. I'm pretty sure they are made in Poland, so why can't Bosch tell us that? They make a big thing about their series 8 machines being manufactured in Germany. It's almost as if they are ashamed of their other machines being manufactured in Poland.

so my school has a bosch classixx 1400 express (brushed) and they have had it for a while like more than 5 years and its very reliable! If it does reach the end of its days I might recommend it to my school. Btw whqts the model number?

Did you guys ever used prewash function? How? It doesn't appear to have it.

I like how you make your wife do all the laundry and you don’t even empty it when it’s done, just turn it off and walk away 😂

My serie 4 sometimes won't lock the door, so open the door and close it, then press start. Hopefully you hear the Clunk of the door lock and the start of the program :-D
