AYUTTHAYA, THAILAND - Ayutthaya is the former capital of the Kingdom of Siam, and they happen to have some very tasty Thai food until today. So today I’m taking you to some of the best Thai street food spots in Ayutthaya, Thailand!

Here Klae Pork Satay (หมูสะเต๊ะเฮียแกละ) - maps.app.goo.gl/5GGgWPw7AfyKefnz9 - Featured in the Michelin Guide, this is a generations old Thai pork satay stall. The meat is quite sweet, but nice when dipped in the peanut sauce. Pork satay (หมูสะเต๊ะ), Price - 160 THB ($4.46) for 20 sticks

Pa Lek Boat Noodle (ก๋วยเตี๋ยวเรือป้าเล็ก) - maps.app.goo.gl/btEtsHQhprYiAyDy5 - Along with freshwater giant river prawns, one of the foods you have to eat when you’re in Ayutthaya are boat noodles. I ordered Beef boat noodles (ก๋วยเตี๋ยวเรือเนื้อน้ำตก), Price - 20 THB ($0.56) per bowl

Roti Sai Mai Abeedeen-Pranom Sangaroon (โรตีสายไหม อาบีดีน-ประนอม แสงอรุณ) - maps.app.goo.gl/bV39sdnoAp9ry9f79 - Most Thais who visit Ayutthaya will always visit a shop to buy, eat, and bring home some roti sai mai, a type of Thai cotton candy eaten inside of a roti. I have tried it many times, but this was my first time to see the entire process of it being made. Amazing! Roti Sai Mai (โรตีสายไหม), Price - 100 THB ($2.78) for 1 kg. bag

Singburi Fried Clams (หอยทอดสิงห์บุรี) - maps.app.goo.gl/P86feL4GKtDysLxp7 - The highlight of this Thai street food tour was eating from the Ninja of all mussels omelets. He’s truly at acrobat at work as he tosses in 20 eggs per omelet griddle! Fried mussels omelet (หอยทอด), Price - 60 THB ($1.67)

Khaotom Chedi (ข้าวต้มเจดีย์) - maps.app.goo.gl/J5cQ6xWpWbjCC5gW7 - For dinner, one of the best Thai street food meals to eat is khao tom, Thai Chinese mixed dishes with rice or porridge. Don’t miss Crispy gourami salad (ยำปลาสลิด), Fish head stir fry (หัวปลาผัดฉ่า), Clams with chili jam (หอยลายผัดพริกเผา), Stir fried water morning glory (ผัดผักบุ้งไฟแดง), Fried shrimp chili salt (กุ้งทอดพริกเกลือ). Total price - 1,200 THB ($33.42)

Ayutthaya is a great place you can visit for Thai history and culture, but don’t miss all the delicious Thai food when you’re there.

Welcome to Ayutthaya! For those who are watching, he got a great list. I'm local and I second that. The oyster omelette and the noodle is at the same walking street next to the Wat Mahatat so it's perfect to visit the historical site at late noon for the best photography lighting and then move to the walking street market in the evening as the sun goes out.
  • Hey Mark. Been watching you for years. Make my day and say "hey!" Another good one.

The Mussel Omelet is my favorite. Uncle needs his own cooking show. The Dancing Chef. When I visit Ayutthaya, I am going to look for him. He puts a lot of rhythm and roll (and love) into that Omelet, which is the secret ingredient that I'm sure makes it taste so brilliant!!!
  • I’m Thai living in Melbourne now. Watching you eat Thai food always makes me hungry, wanna eat so muchhh
