“Don’t buy gaming stuff, just buy used music stuff” NO DONT TELL THEM
  • @SubmaxSubrose
"Dont get gaming stuff for audio, get used music stuff, the quality is incredible" as a person who works on the music recording world, that's absolutely true! (some expensive "gaming audio" stuff feels and sounds like a toy compared to even middle quality music-recording equipment) And I like how Alex spent part of his budget getting a laptop for his girlfriend :)
  • I hope to someday get to the point where people say, “Having 8 hours of his time… so good!” Such a compliment to have people find you that useful and valuable!
  • @zodiacsoldier

RF guy here! I am late to the party but I'll demystify the antenna orientation. Antenna Interference: All mid to high end routers use multiple frequency bands (2.4G, 5G, etc), and each antenna will operate on a different frequency than the other (there are dozens of non-overlapping frequencies). Thus, they will not interfere with one another. Antenna Angle: Each antenna has a beam pattern that looks like a donut radiating out from the stick (disregard high-end beam-forming routers for now). If want max coverage on one floor, keeping them vertical is ideal so the donut beam radiates in all directions parallel with the floor. The specific use case for tilting them is if you have a specific area on a different floor where you want a stronger signal. You would tilt the antenna so that the donut shape intersects with the area you're trying to strengthen, sacrificing some strength on the main floor. If you have a router with beam forming you don't physically need to angle them to strengthen the signal. the router will electronically angle the radiated beam towards the device that connects to it.
  • @Sawta
Man, I really can't get over how good that opening graphic is. The team did an absurdly good job on it!
  • "Don't get gaming stuff for audio, get used music stuff." As an audio engineer, I can confirm this is completely correct.
  • @SharpBritannia
Linus: Roasts Intel on a daily basis Intel: Meh, whatever give this man money
  • "Who uses a keyboard drawer in 2021?" me in 2022 leaning on my keyboard drawer watching this video

  • @kairon156
it's so nice to see people communicate when moving furniture together. Also of the videos I've seen so far I enjoy where the money went for this one.
  • @generalmisery
I really love how Alex actually knows stuff about audio and Linus just "why not wireless?", "wires are cheap" and "why not a headset, you don't need mic and good headphones?".
  • @Zafiria
"Dont get gaming stuff for audio, get used music stuff, the quality is incredible" this is so true
  • @c4sualcycl0ps48
Madison laser-engraving Alex’s side panel is a poetic form of irony.
  • 25:15 anyone noticed t he timing of when the game turned on his hand just happened to point at the monitor
