I was in construction as a young man and i was building a set of brick stairs up to the front of a house on a hill. I was only up a couple steps when a car stopped behind me on the street. It was William Shatner. He rolled down the window and i could see him and a dog. He was genuinely interested in what, and how, I was building the steps. We talked for a few minutes then he left. He stopped by every day for the couple weeks i was the building them. We talked each time. He really was a nice guy and when i was done he congratulated me on a great job. He said something that made me think the last day i saw him. He said that my stairs would be there long after i had passed on. I said back, just like your TV and movies will. He smiled and said yes, you are right. He waved and drove up the hill.

I was six years old when Star Trek hit the Airwaves. Star Trek was a great show for its time and is still great. William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy took it to Beyond Awesome Territory along with the other actors but it was those two guys who were genuine and geniuses at their craft. Always loved those guys along with the rest of the crew.

I love both of these two guys. When I found out that Nimoy passed away I cried. I felt a part of my childhood go away with him because he was such a huge part of it.

Leonard Nimoy is one of my all time favorite actors/people. (So is Bill Shatner by the way). I watched a documentary about Nimoy's life and fell even more deeply in love with him. I feel so sad whenever I think of it, that he is no longer on this Earth. On the same hand I'm forever grateful that we are still able to enjoy Bill with his great humor and sharp wit! I also try to watch everything I run across where Bill Shatner is talking. I fall more deeply in love with him too the more I learn about him. So glad I ran across this channel. They are both icons in their own right!
  • I grew up in the west End as Leonard did. Very proud of his success and may he rest in eternal peace. He lived well and prospered.

I don't care what people says of William Shatner, he is one of the reasons I got into Star Trek and I will always be thankful for that. William Shatner will always be an amazing actor and an amazing human being.

I had a friend, he was an actor, (a damn good one, pulling down better & better parts). My friend was dating Leonard Nimoy's daughter. Well, he & the daughter went their separate ways. My friend then married another girl I knew from Milwaukee. He took a part playing Tom Sawyer for a TV broadcast. They had a child that had some serious problems, & needed hospitalization. My friend gave up acting to get a job to pay for the bills. Leonard Nimoy found out about this situation, stepped in & payed the hospital costs. Live long & prosper (English), dif-tor heh smusma (Vulcan), Shalom aleichem (Hebrew), Salaam alaykum (Arabic). Peace be upon you!
  • Now is the time to release the entire interview. I hope A&E will permit that. Rest in peace, Mr. Nimoy.
  • I’ve watched Shatner interview many people - he’s just a GREAT interviewer! Genuinely interested and tuned in and able to draw things out of people. I really love the guy!
  • I can't believe William Shatner is 90 years old and still going strong God love him

Mr. Nimoy opened up and demonstrated the sensitivity he imbued 'Spock' with was a heartfelt emotion from his youth. Well done Bill Shatner!

Leonard was a fascinating guy who did a lot of interesting things. He looks very comfortable here explaining his life to Bill Shatner. An uncommon interview.
  • @goombabear
Shatner seems like a hard worker. He's in his eighties and still working.
  • @Royalhighlander
