i have walked that whole stretch of road many times. Used to be easier 15 years ago and not as much traffic.

i have been there 15 times since 2004 when I first went. I so love just walking around, hopping on and off a baht bus. It is such a convenient and easy and fun place to holiday and I was going to semi retire then in February. But COVID and irrational official's decisions put a halt to that. That and the USA embassy no longer doing income letters just makes money transfer more work and expense and I would never put 800k baht on deposit. as much as I love Thailand you have to be very careful about putting any significant investment in there. Hope it opens soon and without nutty insurance requirements beyond my fine global coverage I already have, no impossible to get medical certificates, clearance letters etc. The reason I first went to Thailand back in 2004 was because it ws easy to get there. Visa exemption on arrival for instance. My contract work and stoppage was unpredictable so getting a tourist visa in advance was troublesome. Loved being able to fly in at a moment's notice. That is what a tourist friendly country should and did do. Be well
