Just so crv owners know of the third generation - there is a coolant pipe made of metal behind the intake plenum that rusts until it leaks. This part is on back order. Buy one ahead of time, it could happen to your crv.
  • @mynameisnotcory
My friend bought a crv a few years ago for 2000 bucks. 250k miles, survived hurricane harvey, got no hail damage while the bmw next door got totaled, drove from houston to LA about 10 times, currently has 480k miles and still runs like a charm. In freaking sane tank of a cat
  • @shahbasharat
I have 2005 CRV bought brand new in 2005. Got 300k miles and running strong.
  • @pjc2001
Scotty, you might be 67 but you have more energy than many guys half your age.
  • @onlygod5667
My 95 civic ex has 657k miles on it and it's still running like a champ! Passes smog with flying colors also!
  • @seanA416
455,356 miles on a gas engine!? That's insane.
  • @mattmayo3539
The only way the civic dies is one of three ways. Crashed, stolen, or you had to buy anew because you were so tired of the same car.
  • I have the exact Crv model. Owned since 120k miles. And currently running without issues at 335k miles
  • Got a 2007 CRV - 196k running strong! So far went through 2 ac compressors and suspension (shocks, springs, etc), and 1 battery about @2k in total in the last 4 years. No car payment and starts up every morning. I’m shootin for the 500k club! Thanks Scotty for the most energetic review I have seen in a while!
  • @diverdave4056
my 2001 Accord exl 4 cylinder just rolled 471,000 miles last month and was still shining and running like new ... until a Huge tree limb fell on it as i was driving home and it TOTALED IT !!!!!
  • @The874runner
💯 wow I got a 97 Camry pushing 400k and been beaten it’s whole life. Still ticking like a champ. Obviously Toyota. But Honda right there too
  • @rhrh2025
I have a friend who has a Ford Thunderbird with over 500,000 miles on it! He's had no transmission issues, and no serious engine issues. He has taken care of oil changes, other fluid changes, etc. If the right car is taken care of, it will last, and there are numerous manufacturers who've made those cars! Honda is certainly one of them!
  • @THEH2OMAN
Repeating his message at least 3 times, he tells us what he's going to tell us, then he tells us, and then he tells us again - enabling his message to reach a much broader audience. Scotty hammers his point home so we don't miss it, and I thank him for that.
  • @itsallrobbish
I’ve had 2 Accords and 2 CRVs with a similar engine, all over 130k, smooth as butter.
  • @JuniorLexus6692
Some cars age like fine wine🍷while some cars age like milk🥛 with a early expiration date. Lol😆
  • @brainiac9579
Scotty's right: Start with a well engineered car. Do your maintenance. Don't drive like a maniac. Don't trust normal car journalists. Do your maintenance!!! I drove multiple cars well past 300K miles, even a Civic on a single clutch that I sold for an obscene amount of money. Follow those mantras.
  • @x2e4
You know what else lasts over a million miles and still running fine? My grandpa's Land Cruiser.
  • @nunyabidness117
I have no idea how anyone other than Honda and Toyota stay in business.
