This is so 👌🏻 Oliver, this is one of the main reasons why doctors call chronic pain the suicide disease. I have to admit I do use my therapy sessions as a “pain dump” as I don’t like talking about it with my friends. Simply because I notice that if my pain can’t be fixed, people around me feel helpless and don’t know what to say and I’m like you I don’t want them to think I’m moaning or whingeing all the time. This kinda works as the time I am with my friends I’m so focused on our time together (being present) and what we’re doing ...distraction therapy almost. Having a therapist to be able to offload to is so important though for chronic pain warriors (I prefer say warriors instead of chronic pain sufferers) 🤗🤗

New trick when i'm commenting. Watch first, then listen again, and make comments. If you feel the same way when you see your counsellor, your going to say the same thing every week. But a good observation from her, and you perhaps, that'll make you think about other things you may want to tell her. Good that you have such a good relationship with your coach. I'm noticing that you're stammering a bit? This is a sign of stress, i've experienced. I like your stetching technique. When i'm in pain walking, I have the same thoughts of self image. I used to be quite sharpe with people if they noticed, because I didn't want their sympathy, and then I used to feel aweful for being so ratty! If I'm having probems walking, I tend to concentrate on my breathing, which helps me. Being aware of self, and the environment you are in at a paticular time, is a good skill. It focuses your mind on positive things. Never be ashamed of your anxiety. It's an emotion we all feel from time to time. Think about why you are anxious, and work out how you are going the resolve the issue that is worrying you. You will feel a lot better about yourself after. Your feelings of anxiety about how successful you are or question; I think we all experience these thoughts and feelings. Just remember everything you have already achieved. Really enjoyed the video, Oliver. Thanks. :)
