When I got married, I didn’t have a lot of money. My dream dress was $2000, not including accessories or shoes etc. I found a dress that I liked, it was $200 but it was far from my dream dress, very plain. My mom said, buy this one and I will turn it into your dream dress. She bought crystals, sequins, pearls, beads. She worked on my dress for almost 6 months. It was a masterpiece. I looked like a princess! It was better than my dream dress, especially because it was made with so much love! Turns out, as a teenager, she worked with a master seamstress/dressmaker when she was growing up in Mexico. And she learned how to embroider. And apply all of the sparkles! That was in 1990. I still have it! 😃 Thank you mama. For such a labor of love!

The Angolan girl in this video destroyed her father's political career with this appearance. He was known for being an anti-corruption politician in a country where half the population doesn't have running water, and her publicly spending $200,000 US on custom wedding dresses and then flaunting it on a TV show raised questions about just how anti-corruption he was. I hope it was worth it for her princess day.

That 200k is blood and sweat of poor people in her country. If she spent 200k for only dresses, how much more for the entire wedding? Sad!

The first bride is daughter of a Angola minister, was a huge scandal in the country about it. People saying most of Angola people live with 2 dollars per day and she spend almost 200 k dollars on this dresses. Take your on conclusion 👌

Nearly half the population of Angola (49.3%) lack access to clean drinking water. More than half (54.7%) of schools in Angola do not have access to adequate sanitation facilities and most (68.6%) have no hand-washing facilities on site.

Pnina wouldn't care how passionate I was about her designs, as long as I had tens of thousands of dollars to spend on it. 🙄 That part of the video made me lol.

Pnina Tornai designs are the epitome of money doesn’t buy taste
  • The dad of the 3rd bride was such a kind man. His daughter told him she wanted a dress by a specific designer so he got her and the family a private appointment with that designer and her team. He made sure to include the entire family in the event too. Even when he absolutely disliked the sheet, low cut bodice of the first dress his daughter tried on, he never once criticized the designer or the dress overall. He just told his daughter to go try on another dress and that it wasn’t in his taste. Hope the daughter knows how lucky she is to have him.

In 2017 the Angolan girl didn’t just have to squander $200,000 of her family’s ill gotten gains. She chose to be on this show flaunting it. Her Dad ran as AntiCorruption. No one had the sense to stop filming. Angola is incredibly poor. Unimaginable poverty and suffering. Outside the few modern cities the average worker earns $16 a month. $27 a month in town a month. The citizens were understandably enraged. Her Dad prior to this hitting the Internet was next in line to be President. I’m glad her greed and extravagance showed who this family are.

“Practically royalty in her country…” oh please! She’s the daughter of a politician!

I tried on wedding dresses from $5,000-$15,000 and fell in love with a $900 wedding dress, it was gorgeous and timeless. Don't pay more just for a designers name, the more expensive dresses aren't better quality. With the right alterations a $1,000 dress will look just as good if not better than a $10,000 dress.
  • @hayleymariemills
I REALLY wish that when they show a bride what a customized dress will look like while trying these on that they'd show the dress after it's completed!
  • @SKC193
Spending that much money on a wedding just blows my mind! Even if I had that kind money, I wouldn’t do it!🤪
  • I recently met an Angolan who spoke of the corruption of the government, there. Wasn't there anyone who asked, "Where is the money coming from to buy these gowns?" Now, I don't mind a designer being amazing, or a woman that has good taste. What I do mind is millions of Angolians that could have eaten or gotten health care. I will say that one dress around $10,000 would have been more compassionate. Now, if that cabinet member earned the money by himself, then I am OK with the spending. It's the corrupted acquisition of wealth that bothers me. If one is a public official, be reasonable and kind.

The more I watch Pnina brides, the more I appreciate Curvy Brides Boutique or SYTTD UK, the one with Gok.
  • @Zr595
If I steal one flower I can pay my rent for 2 months 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
  • @user-zk5yj5fj5b
I am in South Africa , with millions of Angolans trespassing borders illegally because of war and poverty. To be " practically royal " in such a poverty stricken country comes with responsibility. This is not only outrageous but ridiculous. She def didn't do herself , her dad and his political career or Angola any favours.
  • @lindaf382
Just because you have money, doesn't mean you have good taste. Gaudy is a word that comes to mind.
  • @WiseAngelUK
50k is a good deposit for a house and the purchase of a brand new car too
