In this easy DIY video, we'll teach you how to add foam to a plain wooden barstool and upholster it with quality vinyl fabric. Our DIY method creates a beautiful topstitch along the top and bottom of the stool. Plus, our clever design eliminates those annoying wrinkles on the underside of the stool that have to be stretched and stapled flat. Let's get started on this easy upholstery DIY.

I enjoyed your video, I have just started sewing odds and ends. I believe a vent hole in the wood could help the fabric from scratch.

I often need to slip covers over foam, and as you say, they can be a little stubborn. I use a very fine plastic similar to "Saran Wrap" to facilitate the process. The plastic is called "silk wrap" and is a big help. Your videos are excellent and have helped me with a wide variety of projects.
