A tip for the spin o Rama: if you hold L2 for a bit longer you get more control over your spin, all you have to do is swing the left stick around the direction you want to spin (clockwise or counter clockwise) after letting go of L2. Holding it for that half second longer leaves you back skating for a half second, which confuses the defender and makes it easier to spin the desired direction, because if you just tap the spin it sometimes will spin you the wrong way. Also doing the spin in this slower way allows you to keep control of the puck better, and you can manipulate the right stick as you are spinning for a better deke

Ya the Kyle Turris deke took me a long time to figure out and it is more precise than most of the other dekes. For a lefty I would describe the right stick movement as going from 6:30 to 6:00. You don't have to spam down multiple times but hey whatever works :)

As an old millennial i miss just slap shots wrists shots and dekes. These new ones are so intense

Im really glad you didn’t say specific movements with the left stick for the dekes as it is camera relative. This video did a great job at showcasing the dekes in their basic forms and I was glad to see it. I will say I think you missed two that i guess could be considered variations but are different IMO. 1. The Kucherov deke variation. Stride deke to the backhand and immediately press down on the right stick to release control of the puck (as opposed to flicking to the forehand) Puck stays straight and you fly to the right away from the checkers. You can do this on the Forehand but not nearly as effective. 2. The off the skate between the legs variation. Hold your stick all the way back behind you on FH and perform the skate deke and he will go off his skate and between the legs. Can cause some tripping calls. As a side note the Kyle Turris is just a variation of the skate deke with the key setup being the stick is held to the players forehand side and you are in a glide state (no left stick movement). The “same side” dekes are done by holding deke button and pushing both thumbsticks to either the players FH or BH AFTER being held outward on their respective sides. Hope this helped better understand these very unwritten dekes in the game that you were spamming to perform. If only their was a better tutorial for these moves ingame for people to understand this better…

For some reason I really liked the way you put up this video, very helpful, very good to watch you.
  • Renember that the fake shoot is different on TC, you must hold LB before pushing down on the right stick, otherwise you get the reverse hit animation. Nice deke video 👍

10:41 to do these I put the r stick in like a 4:30 position hold L1 then rotate up to 3:00 for the other side 7:30 then rotate up to 9. It’s a very small motion but it seems to work on command for me.

Great video, really helpful and needed. Keep the grind going!
  • Everyone know HOW to make dekes, question is WHEN to make the correct deke
  • @itzklutchh
The forehand cut in. You hold the puck at 10:00 (L) or 2:00 (R) and then straight up to 12:00 for both. Backhand cut in is the opposite.
  • They bullying comment at the end was pretty funny. Informative video too.

thanks man, i subbed. this was awesome

Thanks for the video okay so my question is probably a simple deke I don't even know if it is a deke but when you're on a breakaway and go backhand forehand backhand and then score you know the goal that everybody uses in eliminator like every single time it's extremely frustrating but I can't do it every time I just use the right stick left to right left to right he either shoots it or passes it or does something stupid... to Puck handle back and forth so fast like that do I have to hold a button down at the same time or do I have to use the other stick to turn my body or whats the secret
  • Do you need to hold any buttons to move the puck faster side to side ? Moving my right stick left to right everyone moves the puck slow. Or is my analog broke
  • @bryangoss440
This is great. Thanks. What dekes are best on the blue line entering the offensive zone?
  • @savage-gg4sf
Any more clarity for the same side deke? Thanks!
