If you Have a $50/Month Coin Budget Do You Have to Purchase Junk Coins? A Case for Better Collecting

Published 2023-12-13
I recently watched a few videos that advise using a low cost, low grade, approach to coin collecting/stacking. I don't agree with that approach. If you collect good coins, the odds are that you will get good returns. If you collect cheap / low grade coins, odds are that your return will be poop. Another one of my "You can do it!" pep talks. Recently a number of channels recommend collecting ONLY low grade, junk silver, cheap coins. Goes against my gut. I think there is a balance between having a budget, and being able to acquire better coins.

Determine where you are, and where you want to go with your coin collecting. Then formulate a plan on how to get to where you want to go.

You do know that the laws for your bank account and your safety deposit box are different. Your bank account is insured, but your safety deposit box is not, and the bank is not liable for the contents.
