Many folks out there shopping for HID kits are hesitant to purchase simply due to the fact that they don't know what color will best suit their needs. When we purchased our first HID kit we had the same concern. We searched and searched all over the web for the best comparison of HID kit colors. What we found, however, was a single image, continuously photoshopped to artificially modify the color appearance in the photo.

In an effort to provide an accurate representation of the color you can expect out of each model of HID kit out there, we installed ten different color temperatures in our test vehicle.

3,000K - Yellow
4,300K - Pure White
5,000K
6,000K
8,000K - Brightest we tested and pure white/blue
10,000K
12,000K
15,000K
20,000K
30,000K - Approaching purple

In addition to these video shots we also measured the light output of each HID kit, and posted the results on our website:

Additionally, we took photos of each installation and have pictures of each on our website for your reference:

If you wanna have high visibility at night go no higher than 6000. The only real difference between 5 and 6 is the hint of blue when pointed at a white surface. 4300 k will be white with a bit of yellow. However, it will provide the most visibility.
  • I feel like your camera had auto white balancing. All of them looked pretty close to white to me. Or I’m crazy

what kit would you recommend for my horse drawn kart I'm currently running a twin candel setup and I can hardly see past the back end of ma horses arse, she's a big old mare at 17 n a half hands. I'm also having trouble fitting a alternator to the old mare so any electrics would have to run for a while on a precharged 12v battery.

Hello, I would like to fit Zorbes H4 12V 60/55W Halogen Bulbs 6000K Xenon in Hyundai i20 car which has H4 60/55w bulb connector . But below are some dauds and would be pleased if you could kindly help me. 1. Being of the same specs with this particular car, can I used just by replacing the factory fitted bulbs? 2. Do any extra wiring is necessary for the new bulb and should relay be compulsory for the bulbs to work in this car? Thanks.

Videos and pictures of the color temperature are not accurate. I bought Kensun brand the 6k thinking they would give me that "white fluorescent" color temp, but they have a blue tint. So now I'm asking what is the color that LED's usually give you? It's like a fluorescent or white with a very, very tiny hint of violet?
  • I am afraid to order a 55watt 8000K kit...because i feel they will give me a 10,000k bulb to achieve the 8000k...when I am infact trying to get the 6500K color. However, I dont want to order 6500k 55watt and then they send 6500k bulb and it washes out to 4500k lol...please help me...i am in a predicament.
