나는 자작나무를 아주 좋아합니다
사람과 자작나무의 공통점이 있습니다
자작나무는 멀리서 보면 눈물 나도록 아름답습니다
더욱이 가을이 되어서 단풍이 든 자작나무는 멀리서 보면
황홀할 정도로 아름답습니다
그러나 가까이에서 보는 자작나무는 상처투성이입니다
사람도 마찬가지입니다
멀리서 지켜보는 사람의 목소리나 행동은 너무 아름답고 행복해 보입니다
그러나 가까이 가서 그 사람과 친해지고 알아가다 보면 아픔과 괴로움 그리고 마음에 상처가 많은 것을 알게 됩니다
그래서 저는 가끔 멀리서 사람을 지켜보면서 참 아름답고 행복한 사람들 이란 것에서 사람의 아름다움을 찾는 즐거움을 느낍니다
어느 순간 내가 상처를 주었던 사람일지라도 그리고 내가 그 사람으로부터 상처를 받았을지라도 그리워질 때가 있는 것이 사람입니다
나와 친한 사람과 서로 마음에 상처가 있다면
조금은 거리를 두고 시간을 가지다 보면 미웠던 그 사람이 아름답고 그리워질 것입니다
