The latest PCSX2 update gives the PS2 emulator an overhaul, including a shiny new interface and native Dualshock 4 and Dualsense controller support. While the open-source solution is one of the best ways to play PlayStation 2 games on your gaming PC, the latest version switches out its minimalist UI with a new GUI framework Qt-based front end.
The latest version of the PS2 emulator arms the PCSX2 with a grid menu that supports library box art and a more traditional list-style interface. If you’ve used the DuckStation PS1 emulator, you’ll likely recognise PCSX2’s new look, as both options feature a similar aesthetic and layout.
Of course, the new PCSX2 update isn’t all style, as the package includes plenty of settings substance. For starters, you can now tweak emulator options like PC controller mapping per game, enabling you to maximise playability without upsetting your entire library. Speaking of gamepads, the software now supports modern Sony pads, which negates the need for additional shenanigans when using a Dualshock 4 or PS5 Dualsense.

Many are underestimating how interested people are in a new PlayStation portable. New PS Vita videos, in 2024, still gets 10s of thousands if not hundreds of thousands of views. And its over a decade old. People want portables now. It might end up being their best selling device ever, especially if it plays all PlayStation games across generations. I could see it possibly surpassing the ps2

8 TB for $899 man thats expensive. PSP had the same problem with its memory sticks. Which i think hurt psp the most.

I bought an 8TB Corsiar for $900 a year ago. I have had no issues with it. With all my PS4 &5 games, it is a little over 1/2 full.

Sony won’t be happy until everyone has/needs a monthly subscription to use /play games. That’s the way it’s going.

Sabrent has had a compatible 8TB drive since last year (Sabrent 8TB Rocket 4 Plus). Expensive though 😅

I have the 990 Samsung 4TB and that's big enough especially when you have PS5 storage for a combined total of just under 5TB.

I have 4tb+4tb+5tb+2tb+1tb= 16tb full of PS2, PS3 and PS4 games. I didn't even buy a PS5 because I haven't finished the PS4 games yet. Everything is almost full and I'm thinking of buying a new 6tb HDD. Space is never enough.

Sony would have a hard time monetizing games if they used the pcsx2 emulator, I imagine .

The PSP was not built well. I remember that I was getting to my dad’s car and when I close the door, the screen cracked. The PSP was in my pocket.

That 8TB drive will drop to $600. They won’t get many sales at $900. At $900 you could just buy a 2nd PS5 for $450. But I want that 8TB drive so they need to drop ASAP
