How about some Vermont drives? Especially in the fall. Also, the southern Minnesota/Wisconsin βdriftlessβ area is a stunningly beautiful drive.

Lovely midsized city. Just some sections seem quite dark. But I noticed they got like 1920's lamps, which gives an extra charm in some streets.
